Can’t wait to hear this album, it still feels so desperately sad that we’ve missed out on the innovation that she would have brought with the rest of her career :(

im scared but excited

I’m hoping this album is going to honour her and stand up to the fantastic music she released previously. “Reason Why” being the first single is very apt, love love love.

Didn't love this album on first listen through :( maybe it'll grow with time but I find the flow of it really off and the tracklisting order a bit all over the place?

Felt the same when I listened last week. I really didn't like it much at all :(

Sadly disappointing for me also — you can tell SOPHIE is missing

I like the track with Doss

6 Music have added the album to their playlist today. I haven't checked it out properly yet but I did enjoy hearing the last minute or so of the Doss collab

I'm not really familiar with SOPHIE or her work, however I stumbled across My Forever on New Music Friday and I think it's sublime :)

My Forever and Love Me Off Earth are both sublime - a brilliant final pairing for the album :heart:

#98 for this in the end on the album chart (#6 on dance)

Have to say I am not really taken by this either, obviously without SOPHIE here to actually oversee it it wasn’t going to have the same spark really, it feels like a first draft of a pop girl trying to emulate SOPHIE on a flop EP or something, where they were scared to go far enough out there? :lol: I mean that inn that it doesn’t go far enough, it doesn’t feel uniquely SOPHIE, it doesn’t really push any boundaries. It feels sterile even in places which is the absolute last word you should ever be using to describe SOPHIE’s music.

 

Love Me Off Earth, My Forever and Reason Why are keepers though.

There are flashes of greatness in this album and you can definitely tell where something was pretty much "finished" compared to something that perhaps was in its baby stages and Benny Long has had to produce it to where Sophie hadn't got.
