Some interesting polls recently, the reporting of which speaks volumes about the press. A few weeks ago, the Observer reported on poor ratings for Starmer, Farage and Badenoch. Ed Davey's ratings in

I’m acrually surprised Burnham isn’t ahead at this honeymoon phase.

Both those recent polls were before he officially became PM though

I've said it before but I think Reform are really spent politically. I'd be surprised if they are polling at 10% by the time the election comes round.

I dunno, I think there’s enough people sold by the ‘stop the boats’ tagline and anti-trans hate to keep reform at 20%

Well only time will tell I guess but I think by 2028 we'll be back to 2 party politics.

It does sort of feel its heading that way.

The Tories (for some reason) seem to be doing better, as do Labour. With Reform starting to falter and Green's momentum seems to have stalled a bit.

I guess 2/ 3 years is a long time. But yeah, I can see it basically being Labour vs Tories come the next election too. That's assuming Reform continue their decent.

I agree. Can't see them winning. Labour will with a much reduced majority.

sad to see green party support collapsing😥

Burnham should roll the dice and take a chance on an early election whilst his halo is still shining. If he leaves it until 2029, then a poo-choo train of despair that’s on its way will hit Labour station and decimate their chances, and give the Conservatives and Kemi a real chance of winning. If he does it now, then he kneecaps Reform whilst they’re on the descent, whilst also nobbling the Tories before they can take over as the main party of the right. Kemi Badenoch is now the 2nd most popular active UK politician behind Burnham, and I can see her popularity continue to grow before 2029, but an early election would finish her off.

The risk is that Labour lose seats, or even their majority, and some Labour MPs may refuse to vote for one out of that fear. But if one is called, the worst case scenario in all likelihood would be a Labour/Lib Dem coalition.

It depends what happens between Reform/Conservatives splitting the right wing vote. Am surprised the Tories are on only 2% less than Reform, maybe its temporary because Farage was in the news for the wrong reasons over funding.

I think you answered your own question with the last paragraph there. They have a 166 majority currently if Burnham was returned with a Lib Dem coalition he would be toast.

3 years is along time in politics so who knows what events will do to affect things.

Re the Tories, I think Badenoch is more popular than her party currently due to her good performance at Westminster, the party is still in the doldrums in the polls. Unfort the English public have short memories and their friends in the right wing press will ensure the idiots forget all about the disaster in the last Tory government as they say Labour ‘have spent too much £££ and we are broke’ vote Tory. It’s all very predictable and I’m only in my 40s.
