I do not like Streeting or anyone else that I would regard as a smarmy self-serving Tory in a red tie, cliché that it is, and neither do that many of his colleagues if this week is anything to go by.

There's absolutely no sense that he genuinely gives a TO55 about anyone else, he's just very ambitious yet completely devoid of charm and charisma just like the guy he's trying to topple, and I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if he eventually defected to Reform if this doesn't work out for him.

Honestly props to Streeting for having the confidence to not only mention Brexit being a big mistake but that we should not only seek a special relationship with the EU but aim to rejoin in the future. He's got my vote if he is going to push more for closer ties with the EU if he wins than what Starmer is doing.

I wonder why Wes Streeting would suddenly and unexpectedly want to put the EU back on the news agenda and suggest that Labour would want to bring the UK back into it, just before Andy Burnham is about to take part in a by-election in a constituency that voted 66% to leave. 🤔

Peter Mandleson has said he backs Wes Streeting, so hopefully that torpedoes his bid completely. Vile man.

If I was PM, here’s a list of things I would ban

Loud fireworks

Electric vehicles

Paper straws, and reverse the ban on plastic straws

Vapes

Vape shops

Turkish barbers

And a list of things I would do

Make healthy food cheaper

All businesses will be legally required to take both cash and card

Legalise smoking in just these indoor settings such as pubs, bars and nightclubs

Tougher sentences for serious crimes ie. murder, rape, paedophilia

Electric vehicles surely better than petrol guzzlers but doesn’t solve the problems of congestion.

Not a fan of vaping so would agree with stronger action on vaping in public spaces.

Turkish barbers are mostly a front for money laundering and paper straws are more of a choking hazard than plastic straws because you can choke on bits of the debris of the paper straws, the plastic straws are also less noisy and they don’t collapse requiring a new straw

There have been arrests in Greater Manchester in relation to Labour's sole win in the Tameside Council Elections. In an exposé by local newspaper the Manchester Mill, it is alleged that people tied to the Labour campaign invented two independent candidates to split the indie vote to allow Labour's candidate to win in the St Peter's Ward. I'm surprised that the returning officer didn't notice something was up given that one of the "stooge" candidates was literally called "Muhammad Ali", but it's in the hands of the police for now.

So are loads of other shops like Vape shops, Phone repair shops and American Candy stores. Then your policy for shops having to have cash and card will make them more likely to be laundering.

Most laundering happens from cash only businesses. Making businesses take both cash and card will most likely help to crack it down and I agree about the vape shops. As for straws, lots of other countries use plastic straws and I remember Trump talking about banning paper straws over in America and I stand by what I said when I said paper straws are a choking hazard

I wholeheartedly agree with banning loud fireworks. They scared the life out of so many animals, including my dog. The booms are also a trigger for people with PTSD (especially those whose PTSD is linked to stuff like terror attacks).

I’d keep the silent ones and you have the odd people who don’t care about the animals, autistic people, people who suffer with PTSD etc
