The unlucky one to miss out on reaching the final is The Stereophonics with their cover of 'Handbags and Gladrags', a cover originally done by singer Chris Farlowe and was written by Manfredd Man singer Mike D'Abo. It has also been recorded by Rod Stewart who I would've said was the original one and also him and Kelly Jones have identical voices so no surprise that both have taken on the song. Stereophonics first covered the track as a demo and just for a "laugh" but the record label heard it and thought it had potential of being a hit single and despite negative reviews for selling out.. it did just that peaking at number four. It was used in the TV show The Office as well.

Well who would've thought The Pogues would have gotten this far after their performance the first time FONY popped up here!

I have gone for them to win as I don't think Sophie's are really enough to give her another survivor win here personally.

Sophie to win! Although I feel in a stronger round it wouldn’t have got anywhere near this far.
The Pogues to win no doubt :D
Everyone forgetting that Fairytale Of New York was actually released in 1987...

I think everyone knows that :P

Yes but it's had many successful returns to the charts since the 00s, including a physical re-release in 2005. I'm all for Sophie winning this but can see why The Pogues are also popular as it's a standout Christmas track from the decade
