Aww :( I wonder if this could be its last week in the Top 200? :o

Although many other artists have experienced chart runs like this or worse in recent years, it's a first time experience for Kylie... I wonder if it'll raise any eyebrows at BMG or if they'll just accept it for what it is?

A lot has been said already, but I think that the musical style (straightforward dance pop) does not really sell albums these days in general, and Kylie isn't an exception. She would do better if she released more disco/funk a la Jessie Ware (or her own Disco) or traditional pop (like Golden).

So, I think the change of sound is imminent for the next album, maybe even some ballads.

Agreed. She needs to get the Tesco Mary’s back on side
Given the shocking lack of promotion of the album after release week I'm not in the slightest surprised.

Out of the Top 100 today :/

:nocheer:

Not surprised, and wasn’t expecting this album to hang around after the quick exit of Tension but certainly expected a little more than 1-52-out.

I never expected such a poor chart run, i knew it wouldnt be great but i expected something like 2 or 3 weeks weeks top 40 and maybe 2 more top 75.

lol. She is fine. Promoting across the world and got a number 1 UK album from a release that has sold her thousands of concert tickets at £100+ per ticket.

Hardly a disaster. No discounting, Lets see what comes out next. A deluxe Xmas edition maybe?

In my opinion Tension II is one of her best work ever

I would strongly disagree. It’s not a patch on the first part of tension and feels like a collection of B sides with a few ok sounding tracks thrown in for good measure. I’m still wondering if we will get a digital deluxe at some point?!?

I really don't think I ever saw Tension II as being anything much more than an extension of Tension and that it was only made off the back of the success of Padam.

So I didn't expect it to perform like any "normal" Kylie album. It's first week sales were really just down to selling a major tour and a dedicated fan base.

I would have rather her landmark tenth No.1 be a full proper new project and era.

I would say I was much more surprised by the relatively bad chart run of the original Tension album. But with the state of the album charts these days, I guess it's difficult to know what to expect.

I don't think her next step will be more "Dance Kylie" as it has now run it's course.

She’s cited the big brother mix of Confide & hinted at a deeper direction like IP so we may get piano house mixed with alt dance 90s flavour which I’d be delighted with!

That's your opinion, just like Blond 2.0 was saying how they felt

Even though the T1 V T2 thread was difficult because it was based on song v song placement on each Album, it did show a strong like for both Albums
