I also think people are less inclined to buy the vinyl variants now that there’s no sense of scarcity anymore (quite the opposite). With Tension and Disco they just pressed as many as they thought would sell (and then some) but Kylie fans are collectors and want it to feel rare

Thats an excellent update. 3rd best seller of day despite lots saying very front loaded is great.

 

She has arenas to sell in America so can see why she is over there.

 

She said she will be in Australia in January for rehersals for tour so i guess she can do some promo still in UK. We know she is doing Rylan for example.

 

She has had brochitis for the whole of September so probably resting her voice hence no performances etc

 

Still more concerts to be announced to so expect more promo to come in Europe.

Its interesting you say she had bronchitis in September as that may mean Taboo was one of the last songs recorded as in her voice on the song ( it works brilliantly though) you can hear the chrokiness in her voice on 2-3 occasions on the song but it works really well on the track, has anyone else picked up on this?

Was just thinking unless they drop anything today which seems unlikely then this album has been quite tame in terms of formats by Kylie’s and other artists standards - yes we still got more than enough but they could have easily dropped more like another vinyl variant/picture disc etc

Already 8600 vinyl sold in the UK with just three options. However, I agree vinyl variants sell better if limited as it is still a niche market that is being exploited by all artists. Market for vinyl has probably risen but the amount available to buy has increased more.

 

I guess the issue is worldwide sales are needed so they don’t state the amount made.

 

UK is her biggest market, could easily have released a ‘UK only’ picture disc with 4000 made. Would fly out.

Shocked that the signed print is still available - usually anything signed disappears in minutes, she must have either signed a TON or interest is not as strong for a signed print this time.

With 1,212 stream units (262 yesterday) it’s looking likely it won’t even match Golden for week 1 streams (1,870)

Considering BMG were all about increasing her streaming presence it’s pretty poor.

Although I guess Golden had 16 tracks & there’s only 10 on T2 counting towards the album but 6 years since Golden when streams have generally increased in the market.

T1 did 3,963 & Disco 3,040 week 1

Finally received the Gemini, Island and Diamond CDs today. They look cute, but definitely overpriced for what they are. I should have some more restraint! The 3 picture cards have the credits on them, in lieu of a booklet. In terms of size there's some inconsistency between the cards across my 3 CDs - maybe a manufacturing error.

Me too, I thought the whole cover was rainbow foil like when steps did it for their album but it's only the text that's rainbow.

Will definitely buy that in the future if it's reduced.

 

Good idea adding the signed print to the CD but they should have added it to the CD bundle to maximise the benefit. Though just looked and can't see any Tension II on Townsend, plus the Kylie store now shows the print with the clear vinyl, and no standard Tension 2 CD shows whatsoever.

To be fair, between tour dates, various releases, she has pretty much broken the bank for a lot of majot Kylie fans

I've bought every Kylie single and album since 1988, but I've spent close to €2000 on tour tickets, so I'll buy the album etc when its on sale!!
