May 21May 21 Thomas Law was a cracking child actor but he’s bringing less than nothing here. His diction is awful.
May 21May 21 Ian took being an insufferable twat to new extremes in today's episode. Almost turn the TV off level horrendous.
May 22May 22 Not overly surprising considering she's been in about 6 episodes this year and hasn't been seen in almost 2 months! A shame though as she's a great character and there's other deadwood (Kim, Callum) that could be axed first. Edited May 22May 22 by lewistgreen
May 22May 22 Yeah no surprise and long over due - she should’ve gone when she found out what happened to Keanu. The fact she came back and works where his body was buried is odd
May 23May 23 All caught up now. Some really strong scenes this week.I agree that the writing for Ian just made him out to be an even more unaccepting prick than he usually is. It really did become too much in the end.How do all these people just pack up and go away for a break the second there is an issue?Jean and Mo just went off after the Harvey cheating thingLily just popped in a taxi and went off (I am assuming Ryan lives close by as otherwise I don't know how she's going to school)And now Stacey is going away with her kids (leaving a business for Eve to run and, again, I assume just taking the kids out of school)
May 23May 23 I thought Ryan lived in Sheffield? 😅Stacey going to "stay with Lynne" is also odd. I know it's soapland and they can do what they want but some of it is beyond me.
May 23May 23 It always sends me that soap characters have to leave RIGHT that minute in a taxi with basically no notice Ryan couldn’t drive down to get her, she couldn’t wait until the next day and get a train or whatever, she had to go right this minute in the middle of the night in a random taxi.

And lol that's always been Eastenders! They can also run off and live in any country they want, IMMEDIATELY, no planning. like Lily getting a taxi halfway across the country. She really should have waited for a Megabus the next morning, and even that would be pricey! Couldn't she leave at the weekend? And then school...

Terrible actress, however been watching earlier years and 2018-2020 she was quite good especially with the chess storylines. Became quite insufferable recently. Eastenders seems to be picking up again and lots of good new strong characters (hopefully they don't kill of the new Mitchell's especially our new peggy of this generation). Some more I would like to depart or take a break are Elaine, Ian, Harvey, zack, alfie, BobbyReally hope stacey leaving this means jean wont be going as she for me atm is the dot to this generation and holds a lot of nostalgia more so than aflie kat mo Edited May 24May 24 by Rough_edges

May 24May 24 Yeah, I don’t see Jean as a new Dot at all. She doesn’t seem particularly helpful or even sympathetic at the moment. Yolande ticks all of those boxes.

She's horrendous, dead wood and has been in it like five times in a year. Her last storyline with Sharon was pathetic. Her holding money for the Pansar's was pointless and went absolutely nowhere. Ir was dropped the episode after. Exactly WHAT leverqge she supposedly had in that role, I do not know.I wish they'd axe Calum too :( More boring dead wood. Bring in a new gay couple. They don't need ro go on a contant merry go round with him snd Ben, who is also a hideous, hideous character, who bares no relation to the original Ben characterisation.Oh, and Yolande is the new Dor. She bssically has whatever Dot's storylines today would have been. I think it's a good idea to replace the archetypes like this tbh. We need a new Janine - Abby would have done that, or Lucy - a new Pat, and a new Peggy. I wish Alfie and Kay would split. He's another vile character. We also saw his true colours with the Hayley storyline. We haven't forgotten those, no matter how kuch "cheeky chappy" crap they shove at us.
