By the way Spotify used to release their charts at random times usually before 12pm but sometimes later or even much later but for the last two weeks they’ve released it pretty much 2.45pmish every single day. So it seems like that’s a new automatic thing they have implemented.

I don't think 'Don't' is "proper" new entry - it charted in 2016 on official charts.

It really should be the next single, I think a video would instantly propel it to the top. However, a lot of people think Juno will be the next single cause she puts the most into it for her concerts. Like even more than the 3 singles, Juno is the crown jewel of her concerts. I hope they're wrong, Bed Chem I think is the song that you dream of for a 4th single

It's a good song don't get me wrong, my favorite one on the first listen. But upon more time listening, bed chem just became so addictive between her falsetto in the chorus, the playful lyrics, and the way she scats in the outro. Plus it sounds like nothing else on the album, which i think you need if you're gonna do a 4th single before Christmas

Juno isn't very good, but Bed Chem is, and it fits the sound of the first thrwe no.1s as well.

Is there any particular reason why the glorious “Fade Into You” by Mazzy Star is climbing the Spotify charts? Is it TikTok?

I didn't even realise it was a song from 1993, it only entered the Spotify chart this month and I'd never heard of the band - assumed it was some rap thing so never checked it out but now I am it is sounding quite lush

Mazzy Star :wub: (one of their members is Hope Sandoval, involved with some great Massive Attack songs like 'Paradise Circus' and 'The Spoils' on top of other electronic collabs)

 

I had heard that one of their songs is on the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice soundtrack but it's not 'Fade Into You' (instead 'Cry, cry') so yeah, would assume TikTok.

They do seem to have a mini-resurgence every now again, either with this song or “Into Dust”, which made the UK charts in 2009 and 2011 after featuring in two separate ad campaigns. They’re one of those bands that a lot of people know without realising giving how often their music gets used in TV & film. Unfortunately their co-founded died in 2020 so doubt they’ll tour again.
