Second single released from Anastacia's third album which is a self title and peaked at number 4 in July 2004. For it's hook line, it samples vocals sung by Sohan Lal in Punjabi from the sample library "Deepest India" (also used in "Let the Music Play" by Italian music project Shamur). Dil La Liya Be-parvah dey naal which is the sentence repeated in the sample can be translated as "I gave my heart to someone who does not care". It slips out in 4th place.

'What If' and 'Goodbye My Lover' are both very heartfelt tracks for me so would fine with them in the Top 2 and that means Rihanna gets my vote yet again!

Wondering if Kate could actually win this, something I wouldn't have called at the beginning!

Tricky one, 'Umbrella' is easily the best song left (and I don't mind if it's already won one of these), and the other two aren't huge faves but aren't bad either - think I slightly prefer 'What If', so voted Blunty.

What If is essentially a Westlife song - a Steve Mac and Wayne Hector ballad with a big key change, but Kate's delivery really sells it to me more than they ever could. It's a very theatrical vocal, as you'd expect, even if she's hardly a groundbreaking singer technically.

 

Goodbye My Lover is comfortably my favourite, a really lovely and genuine piece that I believe would be regarded as a classic if recorded by a more critically acclaimed artist.
