Please bear with me as we go through the results. As this is my first time hosting a quiz I can't guarantee that they will be particularly quick (but hopefully they will be accurate!)

The scoring:

This will work in that the person closest to the answer gets 10 points, then 9 and so on down to nothing (so only the top 10 answerers on a given question will get any points). Hopefully this makes sense. There are a few questions where more than 10 people have got the answer completely spot on so they will all get 10 points and everyone else will get nothing, I think this is the fairest way of doing it.

A couple of stats before I start revealing the answers:

- Every single answer has been guessed correctly by at least 1 person!

- There is one question that over half of all entries have been guessed correctly, I wonder if anyone can guess which one?

Results will start in a few minutes!

That seems fair. What about, for example, if 4 people got it spot on? Will they all get 10 points, and then the next nearest will get 6 points, and so on?

I think it will be the Abba one.

Excited for the results!

Q1) According to the OCC, how many top 40 singles does Ed Sheeran have to his name?

62

I wanted to begin with a relatively difficult question that I thought a lot of people may struggle with, but congratulations to Jordanlee1402 who got it absolutely bang on.

I think some people may have been caught out by the fact that the question is according to the OCC so includes any features that Ed has charted with too.

Yes, that is correct. There have been a few ties in Q1 so there are a few points scores that have been skipped.

Happy with my 1 point for Q1, which I thought was one of the more difficult questions!
Welp I didn’t take the 3 track rule into consideration for this question obviously!

Q2: Including spaces, how many characters does The 1975's newest album have in its title?

33

So, The 1975's newest album is called 'Being Funny In a Foreign Language' which has 33 characters in it. Well done to the 6 of you who got it spot on and the other 4 of you who were just one character away.

Nice start, Ed's I did try to count up but lost track when I got to the collabs, thankfully not too far out.

I did know The 1975 one as I remember the name of the album.

Yeah wouldn't have known whether it was very long or very little on the 1975 one so not too bothered there.

134 though

Q3) If the ages of Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga and Beyonce were added together, how old would they be?

137

I thought quite a few of you may know the answer to this one and it turns out you do! Kylie is 56 years old, Lady Gaga is 38 and Beyonce is 43 which makes them 137 years old altogether! Congrats to Goodelta who got the correct answer once again and has taken an early lead!

Yeah I am fuming at myself and my maths skills for this one because I do know all of their ages I just added them up incorrectly and somehow got 127 instead of 137
I wasn't 100% confident with Kylie, whether she was 55 or 56, but I knew the other two for sure. Yay at picking the right one.

34 was a complete guess for Q2, happy to get some points for it!

Ah, I had 137 as my original answer for Q3 but revised it upwards! 20 seconds wasn't quite long enough for me to do the maths on how old Lady Gaga is now once I recalled she was 23 in 2009.

Q4) To the nearest million, how many copies has the album ABBA Gold: Greatest Hits sold in the UK?

6 million

As of July this year ABBA: Gold has sold 6.4 million copies in the UK, making it the second biggest album of all time (only behind Queen). There were a few of you who gave me exact figures but as I asked to the nearest million I rounded them for you. As you can probably guess, lots of people got this spot on! I'm afraid that if you didn't get it spot on then there were no spare points available.

LOL I can't believe I got the Ed Sheeran one wrong. Is my answer based on stand alone singles then? It was a question in a pub quiz and I put 90 in that one as some wild guess and they said it was 47  I was SO convinced I had got it correct based off of that
