October 18, 20241 yr What a week for Charli Can’t be many artists who have SEVEN top 40 hits from the same album/era? Who was the last to do it? Calvin Harris and Michael Jackson managed loads of top 10 hits from their same respective albums without streaming Edited October 18, 20241 yr by Hadji
October 18, 20241 yr On her Instagram stories, Sabrina reposted the official charts post about her being the first artist in 71 years to have 20 weeks at #1 in a calendar year with the caption "Need to get my ass to the UK and individually hug every single one of you Thank you so much!!!!"

Crazy to think Taylor has been at UK #1 for just 10 weeks in her whole career and Sabrina has done double in 7 months
October 18, 20241 yr Crazy to think Taylor has been at UK #1 for just 10 weeks in her whole career and Sabrina has done double in 7 months I know, I've been thinking about that for a few weeks as we got closer to double. It's inarguable that Taylor is a bigger star than Sabrina, I mean there's a reason why the year started with Sabrina opening for Taylor and not vice versa. And yet, here's Sabrina casually doing something in 6 months that Taylor might not be able to do in her entire career. The difference between a singles artist and an album artist I suppose lol. October 19, 20241 yr Very interesting to see if she'll get another #1. Taste in particular benefits a lot from being the focus track on such a gigantic album. Like The Weeknd for instance has never reached #1 after Blinding Lights spent 8 weeks at #1 and Taylor Swift is used to short stints at #1 just because of her fanbase (only Anti-Hero being an exception).
October 19, 20241 yr I mean, it's not like Sabrina's album is doing at all badly. True, I think its quite likely the #2 album released in 2024 when the smoke clears, but the energy feels a bit different, like people bought Taylor's album for the overall album where they bought Sabrina's album because the 2 pre-release hits were so good and they wanted more singles from her

It's always hard to predict I think. Sabrina's rollout was so good it was easier to keep it going strong than most artists, and when the momentum fades she might need a song that captures attention as hard as Espresso did the next time she releases a lead single. Though this era isn't over yet, bed chem with a video at the right time could do it, a song off her Christmas EP from last year could see a boost with her Netflix Christmas special (ideally buy me presents, but I'm not picky), or a deluxe released at the right time could still get her back there quicker than most might imagine

October 19, 20241 yr The irony that most people who bought Taylor's album didn't actually get the overall album :kink: I do get your point though. If your referring to TTPD , I think the fact it's never left top 15 if the album chart due to streaming pretty much proves their point Also she constantly has 4 or 5 albums top 40 pretty much since the tour started again supports their argument
October 20, 20241 yr wow that’s one hell of a clearout in the top 10, 5-OUT is crazy That got me wondering how often it happens, so I trawled through every chart week since the start of 2020 and found that out of 250 weeks there are only 15 when at least 5 of the top 10 were cleared out. They are as follows: 02/01/2020 - 7 out - Christmas Invasion - https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../20191227/7501/ 09/01/2020 - 9 out - Christmas Retreat - https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../20200103/7501/ 14/05/2020 - 5 out - 5 FRESH HITS - https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../20200508/7501/ 14/01/2021 - 9 out - Christmas Retreat - https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../20210108/7501/ 25/03/2021 - 5 out - 4 FRESH HITS & 1 Rebound https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../20210319/7501/ 03/06/2021 - 5 out - (Olivia Rodrigo Album) - https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../20210528/7501/ 16/09/2021 - 5 out - (Drake Album) - https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../20210910/7501/ 16/12/2021 - 5 out - Christmas Invasion - https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../20211210/7501/ 13/01/2022 - 10 out - Christmas Retreat - https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../20220107/7501/ 17/11/2022 - 5 out - (Drake/21 Savage Album) - https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../20221111/7501/ 05/01/2023 - 5 out - Christmas Invasion - https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../20221230/7501/ 12/01/2023 - 10 out - Christmas Retreat - https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../20230106/7501/ 14/12/2023 - 6 out - Christmas Invasion - https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../20231208/7501/ 11/01/2024 - 9 out - Christmas Retreat - https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../20240105/7501/ 24/10/2024 - 5 out - 5 FRESH HITS - https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../20241018/7501/ Edited October 20, 20241 yr by DanChartFan
October 20, 20241 yr I think Cody may have been referring to 'Please Please Please' dropping out of the chart from #5. Interesting stats anyway - how many of these are where all 5 new songs hadn't been in the Top 10 before? Edited October 20, 20241 yr by jimwatts
October 20, 20241 yr I think Cody may have been referring to 'Please Please Please' dropping out of the chart from #5. Interesting stats anyway - how many of these are where all 5 new songs hadn't been in the Top 10 before? Oops, I've been misunderstanding what they meant all weekend, then spent all this morning researching it to make that reply, then as soon as I posted it I suddenly realised what they actually meant. The only times where all 5+ tracks were new to the Top 10 were the two weeks I labelled '5 FRESH HITS' and the two weeks involving Drake albums. Edited October 20, 20241 yr by DanChartFan
October 20, 20241 yr Thanks, now you mention it I remember the first Drake week - the other two new songs were ABBA's first Top 10 in almost 40 years, and a certain Glass Animals song. So this is only the second week this decade with 5 new additions from different artists - the other one, in 2020, also involved 5 songs going to ACR at once, except then one of those ('Blinding Lights') stayed in the Top 10 and KSI's 'Houdini' dropped out instead.
October 20, 20241 yr Jack saying the kia forum is one of the biggest venues in LA is still living in my head rent free. There's 2 bigger venues in its own suburb let alone LA as a whole
