Hi everyone, this is my first post after reading your fantastic forum for a long time!

Do you think Chappell’s ‘The Giver’ could get a Christmas number one if it was released in time? It was a brilliant performance on Saturday Night Live in the US. It would be such a change to have a great new song to be number one after so many years of reality TV songs, charity singles and old songs coming back year after year. I really think she’s become popular enough to manage it and what a special first number one it would be!

What do you guys think?

I tried to add the video but it’s been taken down, hopefully that means it might be released soon!

Top 10 at best I think, and lower if it is up against all of the Xmas stuff.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your first post!

I think it would be very difficult these days for a non-Christmas, non-charity song to be Christmas number one, it would have to do amazing numbers against the Christmas onslaught. What was the last organic Christmas number one, was it Rockabye or am I forgetting something after that? I wouldn't bet against 'The Giver' being the first #1 of 2025 though (if released by then).

I'm not around for First Look tonight, so first come first served for hosting duties in my absence! ^_^
