It's come round so quickly! Excited for the new season *_* Really like the queens from the first look.

 

Arrietty probably my favourite based on the promo look. In fact I really liked this seasons promo - so many great looks!

 

Also really liking some of the names like Onya Nerve & Acacia Forgot :lol:

Also, one of the queens dressed up as the the MTV VMAs astronaut is so… 😭😭😭

Really looking forward to this, looks like a great bunch of queens! Interestingly not experiencing any fatigue from Drag Race (yet) just now so hopefully season 17 doesn't change that :lol:

I agree, and mostly because International franchises/seasons don't drag too long compare to US ones, and this probably will go on till May or something :lol:

Great first episode, and I like that all of them were actually there despite the split premiere. That needs to be the standard moving forward for those :heart:

 

A really, really strong cast overall but Acacia ending up bottom was hardly a surprise. Weak entrance look, forgettable runway and forgettable performance among a lot of fierce ones (although I do kinda agree with her comment about lip-syncs in talent shows).

Acacia was kind of done dirty, that was a perfectly safe talent performance. Nothing special but it definitely wasn’t worse than Joella or frankly Arietty and I’d maybe argue Lydia too, she had a better idea but flubbed the execution a bit. Correct top 2 for me, I’m kind of obsessed with Suzie already. Her and Lexi are my early faves, I can’t wait to see Lexi next week!!

Yes, Joella was straight up bottom for me. I felt that she was given a pass because of Katy Perry story line, and it was nowhere near warranting judges oooh's and ahhhh's in that performance lol.

Great first episode, loved the squirrel games bit at the start :lol:

 

Surprised Acacia was bottom. Joella & Arietty were worse. Although the queens did the ranking so not surprised it became a little bit shadey. Arietty would've likely been bottom had it not been for her friend ranking her #1 :lol:

 

Top 2 was correct. Loved Suzie's tapping instead of lip syncing the words part way through the lip sync. :lol:

 

Can't wait to see what next week's queens bring!

Suzie and Lucky were the top 2 of the episode for me. I don't care what anyone says about Suzie in that lip sync, but I thought she did so well in it. I thought the lip sync win was well deserved. I honestly thought that Acacia should've been safe and Joella should've been in the bottom 2.

it wouldnt be (a modern season of) Drag Race without a twist!

That was definitely set up, people are moaning about it but like… it’s Drag Race? There is always going to be these twists, this is reality TV. I like having nobody go home in the premieres, it gives everyone a few episodes to shine, and I’d rather they did a campy twist like this than the Paramount+ seasons’ favourite trick of just pretending a lipsync is a double shantay when one queen clearly won :lol: A 16 episode season with no twists and turns actually end up being dull, it’s just if they overdo it like season 14 it gets a bit much for me.

 

Lexi Love is everything as I anticipated, she has her foot on these girls necks!!

god there really was only 2 good talent shows across the whole cast. the other tops could truly have been anyone. yawnnnn.

At the minute this looks like Lexi Love's season to lose. Whoever picked her in the sweepstake might be on the money

I feel like if it was in any other episode, both would have sashay-ed away!!!

I’m deeply obsessed with mother Onya, she has IT and it’s insane to think she hasn’t even been doing drag that long!! There’s such a unique spark to what she does, like Symone or Jaida level where everything they do is just elevated because there’s that natural born to drag charm. Like the judges said, technically she didn’t have the best outfit but she will makes you believe that she did and not many queens can sell an outfit as perfectly as that. That was a great design challenge though, Sam, Arietty, Lydia and Hormona all ate that too.

 

This season is going to be great I think, so much natural drama happening and none of it feels like it’s been stirred or pushed or forced, like we had Jewels and Onya, everyone still kinda hates Hormona, Acacia catching strays, Joella being iconically delusional, I’m living.

Great episode! Honestly I don't think there was really any dire look. Although disappointed with Lucky as I thought they were going to eat this challenge up. Shame to see them go.

 

Onya *_* The drama and the way she sold her outfit - stun. Thought the judging was pretty much spot on. Hormona would've probably been top/maybe won had she not used her own stones/taken them off. Would've had more time to embelish her look which was stunning.

Lucky’s mug was really…a choice. I know the ‘traditional drag’ make up wasn’t her style from the get go, but girl that look was looking rough!!!

 

I really thought Onya had it on a bag because she did really sell the garment on a runway!!! Everything she’s done so far, it screams a finalist to me!!!
