In lieu of the previous SyncTube sessions' weekly polls cutting each week's songs down to a list of 10 options to vote for because no one volunteered to do the work to make such curated lists, for our Hot 100 #1s marathon I'm just going to post one of these threads each week allowing people to vote for whichever songs they want from the full list x

If you don't know what the above sentence is referring to don't worry, this thread is open to participation from anyone (although we're always open to new participants at our weekly listening sessions x), just post in the thread with up to 5 favourites and, if you want, up to 3 least favourites from the below song list. The song with the most favourite nods will get a play at the start of next week's session (and the song with the most least favourite nods will just have a permanent place on a wall of shame for funziez).

Back to the traditional 1 vote win margin, as Fleetwood Mac's 'Dreams' just about came out on top of last week's poll with 7 votes. It had plenty of potential challengers: second place was a 4 way tie on 6 votes each for Manfred Mann's Earth Band's 'Blinded By The Light', ABBA's 'Dancing Queen' (thank God this didn't win xx), Eagles' 'Hotel California' and Stevie Wonder's 'Sir Duke'. It was much more of a walkover on the worst poll where we suffered one of the worst Rod klaxons and duly voted Mr. Stewart's 'Tonight's The Night (Gonna Be Alright)' the worst of the week also with 7 votes. The Manhattans were runners up with 3 votes for 'Kiss And Say Goodbye' and bronze was a 3 way tie, 2 votes apiece for Starland Vocal Band's 'Afternoon Delight', Shaun Cassidy's 'Da Doo Ron Ron' and Barry Manilow's 'Looks Like We Made It'.

My votes for this week:

Best:

Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive

Bee Gees - Tragedy

Blondie - Heart Of Glass

The Knack - My Sharona

Michael Jackson - Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough

Both of the Chic songs just missing out, plus a couple other disco classics from Donna Summer and Gloria Gaynor.

Worst:

Debby Boone - You Light Up My Life

Nick Gilder - Hot Child In The City

Rod Stewart - Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?

I tried to see if there was context that makes that Nick Gilder song acceptable and it only made it worse. I have no interest in looking into it further, I feel like I'm being put on a list just typing the title of the song. Same with the Rod song frankly xx There were plenty of very dull songs this week but Debby takes the cake (especially given the context of the songwriter behind it oop).

Best

Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive

Blondie - Heart Of Glass

Chic - Le Freak

Donna Summer - Hot Stuff

Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive

Worst

Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond - You Don't Bring Me Flowers

Debby Boone - You Light Up My Life

Robert John - Sad Eyes

Best:

Worst:

Commodores - Three Times A Lady

Bee Gees - Tragedy

Blondie - Heart Of Glass

Chic - Le Freak

The Knack - My Sharona

M - Pop Muzik

Limiting it to one Bee Gees song, but Stayin' Alive would probably rank up here too, Ring My Bell and Hot Stuff just missing out.

Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond - You Don't Bring Me Flowers

Commodores - Three Times A Lady

Debby Boone - You Light Up My Life
