Quite enjoy this one, although Tell Ur Girlfriend was my favourite of the top 15 hits by new female rappers this year.

surprised Apple didn't make the top 10 considering it's one of the songs of the year, seems to have been everywhere

with the tiktok dance challenge and everything, not the biggest Charli fan but this song is great

I dont mind the Coldplay one but they're kinda starting to repeat themselves, but still ok...

the Calvin/Rag n Man collab one of the weakest songs of the year, 2nd parts are never good

 Missed the top 100 this year

Biography

Kerala-born, Houston-raised and Bengaluru-based rapper Hanumankind—aka Sooraj Cherukat—will go down in history as one of the artists who introduced the world to Indian hip-hop. HMK, as he’s known by fans and friends, and producer Kalmi, a long-time collaborator, scored an international smash with their 2024 single “Big Dawgs”, whose worldwide virality and chart peaks were aided by its eye-popping music video directed by Bijoy Shetty. The track pays homage to HMK’s earliest influences such as DJ Screw, Project Pat and UGK, South Coast hip-hop acts whose music he absorbed while growing up in Texas. After moving back to India in 2012, he studied business administration and attempted to live the corporate life before realising that he was meant to be an MC. By 2019, when he put out his debut EP Kalari, HMK had already started impressing hip-hop fans with blistering bars and unbridled energy, both on record and at live shows—performing either solo or with the genre-meshing hip-hop collective Till Apes. For his own material, HMK has worked primarily with Kalmi and Parimal Shais, whose bracing beats find a perfect match with his lyrical flow, enabling him to simultaneously sound raw yet polished on cuts such as “Cowboy Samurai” and “DAMNSON”, the popularity of which resulted in a deal with the India division of Def Jam. The ground-breaking success of “Big Dawgs”—only his second release under the label—not only led to co-signs from idols Bun B, Project Pat and Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul but also a collab with his favourite football club, Arsenal, and a deal with booking agency Wasserman for his live shows. And after lending his vocals to “The Last Dance” on the soundtrack of hit Malayalam film Aavesham in 2024, HMK is eyeing a new direction in front of the camera too. - Apple Music

Didn't like Brat at first but I've come around on it a bit, "Apple" is one of the lesser tracks on it imo, don't get why it was viral. The Coldplay one was pretty boring but my Catholic school teacher mum really liked it... "Never Lose Me" is fine enough
Really liked Big Dawgs! Hasn't even gone silver yet sadly, hope that changes today...

Biography

The mononym Jade might be hard to place for audiences, but her presence -- particularly on the U.K. charts -- has been familiar as a member of Little Mix, who won the British singing series The X Factor and amassed over a dozen Top Ten hits at home, including five chart-topping singles. After the group announced their hiatus in 2022, Jade embarked on a solo career and scored a hit of her own in 2024 with the thrumming, synthy summer jam "Angel of My Dreams." - Apple Music

Big Dawgs is decent, something different for sure, great production!

Love Angel of My Dreams  easily my favourite of Jade's output this year!

I didn't get this much as I wanted to although it's certainly a lot better than the rest of the Little Mix solo singles

certainly gets points for a unique song structure and production values

Biography

Jimin had spent only six months as a K-pop trainee when he debuted in BTS—the least amount of any of the band’s members. With his natural charisma and strong background in contemporary dance, Jimin was considered a shoo-in for the group, but it would be years before he would get comfortable with his vocals. After more than a decade with BTS, though, Jimin would become one of the most distinctive voices in K-pop. Born in Korea’s southern city of Busan as 박지민 (or Park Jimin) in 1995, Jimin moved to Seoul at 16 to become a trainee at Big Hit Entertainment. In 2013, he debuted alongside RM, JIN, SUGA, j-hope, V, and Jung Kook as a dancer and vocalist in 방탄소년단 (or Bangtan Sonyeondan, aka BTS). They would go on to become one of the most successful musical artists of all time. In 2016, when BTS made international waves with the single “Blood Sweat & Tears,” it was Jimin’s raspy, sensual intro that lured in many new listeners. He further cemented his reputation as a uniquely expressive performer with the release of BTS solo songs “Lie” (2016), “Serendipity” (2017), and “Filter” (2020). In 2023, during a BTS group hiatus, Jimin collaborated with Taeyang, of BIGBANG, on the R&B track “VIBE” and released a solo mini-album called FACE. A six-track record written over a period of 10 months about Jimin’s intense feelings during the initial pandemic period, FACE hit at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, with synth-pop lead single “Like Crazy” debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Co-written by Jimin, the album is about confronting one’s self in order to become a better artist. “Finally free,” he sings again and again on “Set Me Free, Pt. 2,” a self-liberation song that features Jimin rapping—a reminder that finding one’s voice is not only a continuous, lifelong process for an artist, but one that can lead in unexpected directions. - Apple Music

Biography

In an Apple Music interview from mid-2020, The Kid LAROI reminisced about the short but formative time he spent in LA living with the late emo rapper Juice WRLD. They’d hang out all day, bonding, making music, seeing friends, whatever. People always coming and going, never a dull moment. Sometimes, Juice would wake LAROI up in the middle of the night, wild with excitement about a track LAROI had to put a verse on. Other mornings, LAROI would wake up to his and Juice’s managers saying it was time to pack up and head to Texas. Like, now. He was 15, 16 years old. “I’d never experienced anything like that,” he said. “Especially coming from Australia, where everything is kind of like its own bubble.” Not that 15-year-olds outside Australia would be used to it either. But such is the meteoric ascent of a talented young rapper circa 2020. Born Charlton Howard in 2003, LAROI—whose name is a reference to the Kamilaroi Indigenous nation, in which he has family roots—grew up in the suburbs of Sydney, and began to work on music when he was a pre-teen. Like Juice WRLD, Post Malone or even Lil Peep, LAROI’s key tracks—“ALWAYS DO”, “TRAGIC” and the Juice WRLD collaboration “GO”—blend ultra-melodic trap with shades of alternative rock and classic pop, a fusion that has put him on the front burner of pop-rap. His first album, F*CK LOVE, hit the Top 10 before he turned 18. - Apple Music
