Tyla - "PUSH 2 START"

Apple Music: #80 *new peak*

Spotify: #49 *new peak*

Just noticed it has been added to Amazon's Pop Hits playlist. Hoping it'll be added to the Hits UK playlist (biggest one I believe) when the playlist next updates - which should be next Friday.

Also Bruno Mars' discography is killing it on spotify - he has 7 songs top 200 currently on global.

UK Bruno Mars Update (Spotify)

3. "Die With A Smile"

6. "APT."

82. "Locked Out Of Heaven"

108. "Just the Way You Are"

140. "That's What I Like"

His songs are higher on global with "Talking to the Moon" & "When I Was Your Man" also making an appearance.

On the other side, Billie Eilish is killing it on Apple Music.

4. "BIRDS OF A FEATHER"

31. "WILDFLOWER"

77. "ocean eyes"

165. "LUNCH"

170. "when the party's over"

171. "everything i wanted"

173. "CHIHIRO"

183. "Happier Than Ever"

200. "Guess"

Hoping she may see a boost come the Grammys and then the BRITS following. Fingers crossed she performs at both!

Last as a bonus - the daily youtube chart for 26-27/12:

Chrystal - "The Days" may be a song to watch out for a new peak. Peaked at 24 in the charts before the Christmas takeover and looks like it may go top 20 taking into account songs ahead on ACR. Up to #47 on spotify & #43 on Apple Music.

Think The Days has top 10 on lock, there's loads of different remixes bubbling under the top 200s which are giving it more numbers than what meets the eye

Oo yes just seen the Notion remix is the one charting. The original version of the song is doing ~40% of the remix streams (based on total streams) which combined would put it at 20-21 on spotify. Then add in some of the other remixes - including a new rudimental remix released this week and it's likely not far off the top 10 on spotify combined. Take into account ACR and top 5 doesn't seem to be out of the realm of possibility this week!
Who come out Friday 3rd January

Can only find Lil Baby releasing a new album on Friday, no clue how well it will do though. His last one went top 3 and spawned 2 top 40 hits

'Breakin' Dishes' is a diet bop, would not be against that having a viral moment x

Wham! still at #21 on Spotify. I was hoping for all the Christmas songs to be out of the top 50 now. They fell quicker last year. I hope Fridays chart is a Christmas free chart

Not true, they were #17 on the same day last year. Took another 3 days to drop out entirely (they were #59 on the 29th and #113 on the 30th) so expect the same this year.

Bad Bunny is releasing on 5th, but he isn't very relevant in the UK (sadly)

Tyler, The Creator's impakt inspiring more midweek album releases!

I doubt the new Lil Baby album will make much of an impression, the last album was coming off the back of his peak era and didn't have nearly as much staying power and his recent singles have not made much noise even in the US (although I think I read that none of them are actually on the album). Think his 15 minutes are up.

So what’s the rules on ACR? Does a decline this week even matter?
Historically basically nothing declines in this week (except Christmas songs obvz), or any declines are less than the post-Christmas collapse of the overall market. But if they did it would still count towards the ACR calculations in future weeks, it's just this week that the reset rules are thrown out (so a 25% increase won't result in a reset, they will just reset more or less anything that went to ACR in December, although there have been exceptions to that and there's always the possibility they'll have quietly changed the rules again since last year anyway).

it's a pity that the songs that were bubbling under in early Jan

like Bea-The perfect pair, Peggy, Sam Barber-Indigo

are not exploding

only one doing something is Tyla-Push 2 Start, up to #45 today

Urgh - so stagnant already on Spotify, bring back the days of January being fresh new music.

Tyla - "PUSH 2 START"

Apple Music: #56 *new peak*

Spotify: #45 *new peak*

Imogen Heap - "Headlock"

Spotify: #81 *new peak*

Currently peak is #74 in the chart just before Christmas takeover. May be able to go top 40 if it keeps climbing! Not appearing on Apple Music - perhaps it'll get added to playlists and such once it charts a bit better.

I was really hoping to see 'Peggy' sneak into the top 40 over New Year, unfortunately its moment seems to have gone :(

although very much here for 'Headlock' catching on ! its trajectory reminds me of 'Diet Pepsi' so far - hoping it'll explode in a week or two xx

It's being supported by Amazon of all places. It's #69 there  (not kidding)

Those days aren't coming back. :(

Billie's HMHAS on Apple Music:

2 (+2) BIRDS OF A FEATHER

25 (+5) WILDFLOWER

61 (+108) CHIHIRO

131 (+30) LUNCH

142 (RE) THE GREATEST

Exactly, most artists who have held back releasing / promoting new material until after Christmas will be waiting until after New Year as well.
