Kelly reaching a new peak is SOOOOO nice to see :wub: WHAT a classic! I'm always surprised that 'Santa Can't You Hear Me' also does as well as it does, but again, it's completely deserved! I hope it can reach top 40 again in the future!

Really happy for Kelly Clarkson back in the top 10 again after years of missing out and now with a new peak of 7, also happy to see Cher top 40, Sam Ryder, Kylie and Celine Dion are others im happy about for this week aswell, thats Celines first time charting with o holy night aswell, i wonder what helped it this year.

Celine was placed very favourably on the Christmas hits playlist on Spotify - the only reason really :lol:

Wham and Sam Ryder stayed in the top 100 last year so I would imagine not all of them will be out next week

I find it really bizarre how Wham! were still in the top 100 the week after Christmas last year. Who the hell still plays it after Boxing Day?!

 

Nice to see Sia's Christmas album sneak in at #100 but that's still 99 places too low for my liking :(

'Stick Season' did at least remain top 100 in the audio streaming chart.

The list of new peaks is missing the Perry Como version of 'It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas' finally going top 40 - came close a couple of times in the early download era but then seemed to struggle to catch on as consistently in the streaming era, probably just because the Bublé version supplanted it I suppose.

 

Christmas playlisting was clearly even more heavily pushing the most American-centric hits than ever before, Gene Autry has had a couple of songs perennially returning to the US charts at Christmas the last few years but this week marking the first time he has ever appeared on the UK charts in any capacity - it's a fun song though so not complaining. Also happy to see the first time entries for 'Christmas Time Is Here' and 'Mele Kalikimaka', plus hooray for Bleachers making it in with their more contemporary song x

That seems like a near certainty to me tbh. Not sure how I feel about Blinding Lights losing the record to that song

'Lose Control' is "only" 13 weeks away from beating 'Blinding Lights' for most weeks in the top 10 in the US as well, wouldn't put it past radio to keep it up there for that long in the new year. Feels like such an anonymous song to be rivalling such a phenomenon.
