Any idea on whether there will be a separate show for the weekly chart?

I remember back in 2017 they tried to combine the two shows and somehow managed to read the wrong Top 10 for the current week’s chart.

I'm not sure. But I doubt it. I remember a long time ago they used to do year-end chart shows some years but not other years (seemingly at random) but the problem is solved now, because we have a chart the week after Christmas full of Christmas songs, which we don't really like in this country. So I think that weekly chart show will always be replaced with the yearly chart from now on, because they probably feel super awkward playing 30 Christmas songs in a row on 29th December or whatever.

If this year the chart show is on Boxing Day it wouldn't be so bad, but I still don't think they'll do it.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in looking at this (or maybe it’s just me)? In the streaming era the EOY chart has appeared heavily biased towards songs released/peaking in the first ha

  • Lmao at the OCC reporting Tyga's 'Taste' at #15 instead of Sabrina and Travis Scott's 'Stargazing' instead of Myles Smith at #20 💀

  • Or a semi permanent lead until “Iris” overtakes it in 2052.

In 2023/2024 they did a brief top 20 rundown of the weekly chart and only played number one, would guess it's the same this year.

Dakota in, Burning Down out this week. Abracadabra is doing way worse than I thought, was expecting it to go platinum this week.

I wouldn’t put it past them to have missed it, though I’d only have put it on 602k this week so not impossible it could be 599k.

The cutoff point for the top 40 this year is definitely going to be a little bit higher than last year’s.

Come on Dakota! Does it realistically stand any chance of getting past more than just MUTT?

Do we think WISL is safe to stay top 100 🤞 we know Wham is coming and possibly a few others

I can’t see it.

My estimates are:

97 Mutt 440k doing 5-6k per week

98 Everybody Wants To Rule The World 438k doing 8-9k per week

99 Another Love 434k doing 8-9k per week

100 Dakota 432k doing 7-8k per week

We definitely have to lose 2 so it looks likely to be Leon and Stereophonics, with a small chance of Leon holding over Tom?

I don’t keep up to date with Spotify numbers like you do though Maestro so you might correct me on some of those weekly numbers.

Yes very easily

Haven’t updated from last week yet so not sure but I agree it’s looking unlikely.

Argh! So Killers are in the range 6,765,000 to 6,775,000 so still can’t tell if they are ahead of ‘Shape Of You’. I had them on 6,773,000 - but that’s also the maximum based on your figures last December.

I’m pretty sure they’ve overtaken as I have Ed on around 6,768,000.

Just need OCC to confirm! If they ever will.

@Julian_ what’s your non-rounded estimate for Killers?

Have 6,772,000 for Killers.

And have 6,514,000 for Wham! just based on what’s sitting in my spreadsheet including 306k YTD.

Wham! probably won’t overtake the Killers this year then assuming the estimation on Christmas Day works against them. Would need to do 200k that week probably?

Although I guess they could have enough momentum to sneak past the week after.

At last, the year is well represented by the top 10, with those songs spending a combined 40 weeks at #1 in the chart without ACR. 'Die With A Smile' has had (an estimated) 4 non-consecutive weeks at a #3 peak on that chart, two in each of this year and last, so can be considered equally this year's hit to last. Only 'Beautiful Things' didn't match its weekly peak of last year, and will end here above its (estimated) weekly #8 peak for this year.
