It depends if they go off critical success she's in no question. If they go off chart success/brit darlings not so much

  • But the BRITs are about celebrating big moments in music over the last 12 months. JADE has had a massive year. FUFN went top 40 and 'Plastic Box' was one of the most acclaimed songs of 2025. Her album

  • Lily’s place is definitely justified. Acclaim + sales + cultural impact

Raye's My 21st Century Blues won British album of the year 2024. Prior to winning, it had only spent 7 non-consecutive weeks on the charts, and 3 weeks in top 40. So commercially, it wasn't that different from what Jade debut slbum has achieved so far, with both albums being critically acclaimed.

It would be silly if The Brits solely went by chart success because let’s be honest the top 40 singles chart is littered with viral songs, songs from TV shows or saturation from massively ‘trending’ artists like Olivia Dean.

I think she’ll definitely grab a couple of noms the album is well regarded in terms of critical success and featured on many industry ‘charts of the year’ so surely this counts for a lot. Plus it being the highest selling debut album has some merit.

Has the brits really been about chart success, other than qualifying for single / album, like if that was the case wouldn't LM themselves have loads, they surely would of won band multiple times too

Heck wouldn't Taylor swift be like the international winner every single year

Oh wow. I take back my comment @Tafty !

Best pop at least is guaranteed after winning last year and the lack of competition when it comes to pop this year. I feel 2025 was the year of alternative, r&b, rap in the uk

Praying for as much as possible today but I think “just” Artist and Pop are likely.

Would LOOOOOVE Album but I’m not sure I see that one for her unfortunately 😫

I’m going to set an alarm for 5pm. 😬

The album category is very competitive but I’m hoping her 85 on Metacritic stands for something. 😋

Is there a slim chance FUFN could be shortlisted for SOTY? I’m struggling to think of 15 other British hits from last year that were bigger lol.

Is it still based on sales for SOTY? Do we have numbers for it?

Justice for Plastic Box

Unsure tbh but I’d imagine based on sales. As for numbers, I doubt it would’ve done more than 100k. 💀Would love for critical acclaim to be factored in though and for Plastic Box to get its flowers!

FUFN/ IG are both much better than Plastic Box so if any get nominated they should

I believe the genre awards are no longer fan-voted.

Pop had a very strong 2025 I think, it just wasn't the UK acts. Rap had a pretty poor year in both US & UK though - at least numbers-wise.

Just the two this year: Best Pop Act and Artist of the Year! Shame she missed out on Best Album but still very impressive to have 2 nominations for a second consecutive year. I think she can definitely win Best Pop Act again but I think AOTY will go the same way as SOTY last year. Still, hopefully this is enough of an incentive to book her to perform.

Taste!

Two more nominations this year is still fantastic and beyond what most come close to. AOTY was just a really tough one, happy Lily made it though 🖤
