Choke Enough is a very intense album for me. It's filled with directions, tentatives and irregularities, reflecting on my last years on this planet as my heart and conscience has really decentered from myself.

01 'endless'

02 'thank you for recording'

03 'family and friends'

04 'obvious'

05 “'ct'

06 'choke enough'

07 '(;´༎ຶٹ༎ຶ`)'

08 'take me by the hand (feat. Bladee)'

09 'plague dogs'

10 “forces'

11 'harvest sky (feat. underscores)'

12 'want to want to come back'

13 'blade bird'

Just another AOTY contender barely into 2025 and a debut nonetheless (this could easily fit into the dance or pop forum so I trust the mods will move if necessary)

'blade bird' is stunning and so unexpected

Obsessed with this and the entire soundscape she's exploring — so much of it sounds like a nineties videogame score

Between this, Ela Minus and FKA twigs — the girlies are bringing it this year

What a week for my song contest alumni with both Heartworms and Oklou releasing albums *.*

The sound of choke enough is so dreamy and nostalgic. I loved the warmth of the trumpets and flutes, especially the latter on 'family and friends' - properly fell in love with that in the context of the album, while ‘ict' and 'blade bird' are my immediate favourites of the new songs. Looking forward to getting to know this album more and more, probably late at night in my feelings.

Totally agree that Ela Minus, FKA Twigs and Oklou have all delivered with 3 smashing alt-pop / electronic albums already this year <3

I'm really enjoying “choke enough” currently, I did love the previous single “harvest sky” too but “choke enough” is a complete vibe at the moment for me, the melancholia and ambient/trance crossover is one of my favourite sounds. Will definitely check the whole LP out as I've enjoyed everything that I've heard so far, this review from RA kinda sold me too. So much great music already in 2025.

I also love this quote from her recent interview in Crack magazine.

“I would spend hours watching documentaries, digging through the deepest corners of YouTube, making infinite playlists of house and techno,”

<3

I’m loving this too. Love the y2k feel to it, can’t get enough of that spacey, dreamy soundscape. Early contender for AOTY already, I can tell I’ll be listening to it a lot.

I feel I'll be returning to this one quite a bit, "harvest sky", "choke enough", "family and friends" and "blade bird" are all incredible tracks in different ways and that's not to slight the rest of the tracks, this all sounds great.

first real wow album of 2025 that i've heard.
