Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us may hold on at #1, or Chappell Roan's Pink Pony Club could end up taking the mantle. On the new singles front, Fontaines D.C. drop It's Amazing to Be Young, while JENNIE teams up with Doechii on ExtraL. There's also new tracks from Burna Boy, Selena Gomez, Don Toliver, Dove Cameron, MARINA, Mumford & Sons, Ezra Collective, Wallows, Suki Waterhouse, Yung Lean and Joey Bada$$

Sam Fender's third LP People Watching is on course for the #1 spot, with Tate McRae's latest album So Close To What also aiming for a high debut. There's also new music out from Killswitch Engage, The Murder Capital, Nao, Youth Lagoon, Saya Gray, Joost, ONE OK ROCK, Silverstein, SAINt JHN, Porridge Radio, Baths, IDER, Mike Posner, Paris Texas and Tim Hecker

Official Charts Report

Oasis are the surprise act to take the lead in this week’s race for Number 1. A vinyl re-issue to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Whatever is currently pacing to re-enter the chart at Number 1. Whatever, a non-album single, was originally released December 18 1994, and peaked at Number 3.

However, Liam and Noel will still need to contend with last week’s chart-topper Kendrick Lamar, Not Like Us is only 500 chart units away from Number 1 (2), while Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club is also in with a shot (3).

Tate McRae could get a big boost following the release of So Close to What; sports car could hit a new peak inside the Top 10 (6), while Revolving Door could secure a Top 20 debut (17).

Sam Fender’s People Watching is expected to re-enter the Top 10 following the release of the Geordie hero’s third album (7), while Arm’s Length could also rise (13) and Little Bit Closer could make its chart debut (16).

Selena Gomez’s new single with fiancée Benny Blanco and ascendant pop princess Gracie Abrams, Call Me When You Break Up, is predicted to debut at Number 19 in the UK. It would be Selena’s first Top 20 single in 6 years.

Aitch & Bou’s brand new collab Raving In The Studio is on the verge of a ricochet to a brand new peak; it’s up a massive 23 places midweek (20).

Looking forward to seeing Sam’s sales - I’m predicting 83k for the week.
Chappell could have a chance of #1 if she performs PPC at next weeks BRITs
Chappell could have a chance of #1 if she performs PPC at next weeks BRITs

She’s not performing at the Brits though?

She’s not performing at the Brits though?

I know and that’s why I said if. She should in my opinion as she had a big year last year too

Lol it doesn't work like that :)
Tbf if she wins anything at Brits she would probably get a boost anyway but more likely to be GLB that gets boosted
Even if Chappell does show up I don't think enough people care about the BRITs for it to have any singles chart impact anyway

Even if Chappell does show up I don't think enough people care about the BRITs for it to have any singles chart impact anyway

Last year's BRITs saw a notable boost for a few songs - Escapism. got an automatic reset and re-entered at #13 and Worth It. debuted at #38, while greedy climbed 10 spots. If Chappell were to be there (and obviously she's not so this is a moot point anyway), I'd definitely expect a notable uplift for her.

But yes, she's not there so idk why this is even a discussion

Even if Chappell does show up I don't think enough people care about the BRITs for it to have any singles chart impact anyway

It did give pretty big boosts to RAYE and Jungle last year (albeit the extended chart revival for 'Back On 74' was mainly down to other factors iirc but it did get a solid re-entry on Spotify immediately after the performance).

Does Tate have that much interest to get as high as 45k?

I just can't see it.

I wouldn't have said it before the reception this album has received and the first day streaming numbers, but 20k ish streams, 20k ish pure sales, I don't think is outlandish

I can see Tate doing 20k in streams (PND/Drake did 20k on streams + downloads last week) but she definitely isn't selling 25k copies physically. Her previous album Think Later opened with 11k OVERALL.
