That only works if you're copying from a previous post. There doesn't seem to be a way to copy over formatting from anywhere else (i.e. a Word/Notepad document or Excel spreadsheet).

Yes this does frustrate me too that I can't copy from a spreadsheet into a post (such as for song contest votes I organise and use a formula for). Before we had a notepad built into the forum to save little pieces of data input for (within our profiles) and that was a way for me to paste something from one device and access it on another if needed.

Exactly! I have a notepad file with a template which I paste the charts into from my spreadsheet. It was always a straightforward matter of copying that and pasting it as a reply, especially as I'm posting the same thing on 3 different forums.

Glad we're getting a decent bunch of people who care about code formatting now - hopefully it's something Invision can offer as having to format things manually will take a lot longer.

Are there any plans to do omething about this? I spend enough time putting the post together each week without having to p*** around with it again for Buzzjack. Seriously considering dropping it and sticking with the other forums at this stage.

With all due respect, adding those spaces and bolding those few lines looks pretty simple, it would take me less than a minute (on a computer at least).

The point is that I have already done all that in the document I am pasting from. The spacing is all done, the tags for the bits in bold are all inserted. I post the charts in 2 other forums and it has always been a matter of copying the text and pasting it directly into each one. It may "only" take a minute or two but putting the whole thing together takes a lot longer (there are 6 charts to add to the spreadsheet each week).

italic text

bold text

the asterisk wrapper essentially replaces the [i] and [b] function.

no markdown syntax for underline tho ☹️

What other life hacks have you got @uhsting?

How can we get font in more colours, as it must be possible as anything in a font colour before the migration which is now unavailable to select from has stayed that colour on this forum.

E.g.

I realise some colours will show up better in light mode than dark mode, and vice versa too.

The code from the old forum was converted to HTML in the upgrade so that's how it exists, but it's a security risk for us to enable HTML for everyone so unfortunately, for now, we're stuck with the limited colour scheme.

thanks @Shaky Fan im here to help if you can describe the problem statement. What I do know is all forums will end up this way so its much better that we work together to find a solution.

We can offer much richer widgets and experiences in the editor if everything doesnt need to be swapped out for BBCode again. Modern editors are incredibly hard to maintain and without BB Code it simplifies the editor code for any editor provider we might want to use.

On colours, definitely want to add more lol On the list, hope to get to it this weekend.

on this do we know roughly what colours we want? Its going to take a bit of testing with the light and dark theme

The hue pallette on the last forum was fairly practical. I know you could create a multitude of shades for this, but the main colour sets seemed to do the job.

I think for me, a font colour representing gold/silver/bronze would be important. Maybe another shade of Green too. But nothing else that I am likely to use frequently.

@uhsting what colours do you use for your personal chart etc?

problem with the previous pallete is some colours wont work in dark mode. So we can add them but then would need to turn off dark mode ☹️

Here's a couple of other's posts in the past about colours.

Right now the thing I'm finding most weird is to not have access to teal in the default text colour settings 💔

Maybe we just need a workaround for an extended color wheel because 10 just feels too restrictive 🤔

i would do some trial and error with these colors first: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_colors

right now i think we are missing browns, purples, various skin colours etc. in this palette which would be a priority i would say x

Above is what I have in a notepad file. When I have the spreadsheet updated I copy and paste each chart into the relevant slot and at this point I separate each section of 10. Previousy I would highlight the whole thing and copy and paste as a reply. That obviously still works on the other forums but here it doesn't put the chart titles in bold and more annoyingly takes out the empty lines meaning I have to manually go through it and put them back in. I'm sure there is a way around it, I just wish I knew what it was!

thanks can you provide the raw BBCode in a code tag? Something like this

Want to test some scenarios
