Born 김제니 (aka Jennie Kim) in Seoul in 1996, BLACKPINK member JENNIE moved by herself to New Zealand at the age of nine to learn English. She would return to Korea five years later, in 2010, to pursue her dream of becoming a K-pop star. By 2016, she had debuted in BLACKPINK, alongside JISOO, ROSÉ, and LISA. Together, BLACKPINK would become one of the most popular girl groups in the world. Their debut song “BOOMBAYAH” reached No. 1 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart and was followed by other hits such as “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “Kill This Love.” The group has also collaborated with Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Cardi B, and Selena Gomez, and in 2023 they became the first Korean act to headline Coachella.
