Posted May 9, 20251 yr The weekend will be starting soon, but without Michael Gray who finishes 3rd. Unusually for a DJ chart act he goes by his real name, and this was the 1st of only 2 hits for him. It reached #7 in November 2006 and had worldwide success.3rd: Michael Gray - The Weekend 12/29 votes (41%)4th: Will Young - Who Am I 14/30 votes (47%)5th: Alphabeat - 10,000 Nights 15/30 votes (50%)6th: Holly Valance - Down Boy 19/31 votes (61%)7th: U2 - City Of Blinding Lights 16/30 votes (53%)8th: Jaimeson - Complete 10/31 votes (32%)9th: ATB - Killer 9/30 votes (30%)10th: P Diddy featuring Christina Aguilera - Tell Me 19/28 votes (68%)
May 9, 20251 yr Author Voting for Gorillaz - such a cute track and what a wonderful run of hits they had.
May 9, 20251 yr Voting for Gorillaz to win (love both the original and the remix) although 'Up' is the best Saturdays song for me, so a good battle.
May 9, 20251 yr Both great, but I love Up, such a great second single. It could have gone either way for them after a semi successful debut hit if they hadn't got the second right, but they very much did <3
May 9, 20251 yr Gorillaz in a happy mood for the win! As with 'Clint Eastwood' (controversially), I prefer the version Radio 1 played - the Soulchild remix in this case.
