The thing to take away from this is that Ed has already released 3 tracks, 3 months before the album release... And Jade has released 4 (about to be 5!)

How much will be left as "new" by the time they are out?

I understand why Jade has because it's her first solo work but Ed having such a long pre-order length (Even before Jade's was announced) it's pretty strange.

  • It's been much discussed elsewhere, but the ACR rules becoming increasingly ineffective at fulfilling their purpose - especially it seems with songs which have been out for a while and get a reset aro

Call me cynical, but I can't imagine they'd have weathered it quite so well if they were women.

Show Me Love has hit ACR at just the right time IMO, it's clearly not going to peak any higher than #3 at this stage. It's just a shame other songs are making a mockery of the process...!

It is weird that its his longest between announcement and releasing, wonder if its because he's on tour

It's because they're scared of not getting enough pre-orders lol nothing to do with tour

but no shame, people have to do what they have to do to get pre-orders if you rely on the GP rather than on a dedicated hardcore fanbase like Gaga or Billie

I'm guessing you weren't around to see the crap Madonna got in the early 90s... and still keep her successful career alive and relevant for 2 decades after.

Whitney was also destroyed by the media as was Michael Jackson and George Michael and as was Britney in more recent times. The media love nothing more than to tear down superstars. I think if you act, dress, perform or indulge in a life expected of superstars, there is a level of jealousy by some to want to knock you off your pedestal. I think the more modern superstars conduct themselves more like boys/girls next door types (Ed Sheeran still wouldn't look out of place with a guitar in an empty back street pub performing to an audience of 5) and are less subjected to being torn down similarly.

I see more abuse directed towards Ed on this forum than anywhere else!! 😂 I'm joking...sort of....

Ed left twitter because of all the abuse he got on there it’s just the nature of the beast

This is why Ed Sheeran quit Twitter - BBC News

The pop star is deluged with insults - although the mean tweets are outweighed by more positive ones.

Sabrina now ahead of Miley on albums by less than 100. Garbage at 8

I wouldn't say neither have fanbases though Eds literally on a huge tour and Jade practically sold out her tour week 1

Sabrina will probably get more weeks at #1 this summer than she did when the album came out lol

Im not so sure though she finally down to doing less than 10k a week

Her new song will take her over 10k again then two big Hyde park shows early July still be awhile before she’s not the default option

Ed has made signed posters with purchase of his album available again on his website and indie stores - guessing his team are taking a chance of nabbing the #1 again?

The signed posters worked for team Ed then!
