Hey, remember a year ago when I said "Riptide" was exhibiting a huge boost everywhere but Australia & New Zealand (where it actually dropped a lot)? Would you believe that exactly a year later the same thing has happened?

Ed @ 36 on Apple albeit at 16 on TTH their main playlist and 9 on Pop A List, while Sabrina @ 2 on Apple but she is 1 on TTH and 3 on Pop A List

That's bizarre and doesn't make any sense. Do you have any idea what causes that?

Even if it was a seasonal/weather thing it would happen more gradually, and at slightly different times in different countries and in different years.

I always feel BJ is a mysterious place on the streaming thread at this time on a Saturday as everyone patiently waits for a big new releases firsts stats on Spotify. The flop or hit placards are being drawn!!

Yeah, the seasonal thing did come to mind actually, these are the only two countries I can see sufficient stats for that just started winter, but on the other hand, last year the song just rebounded a week later like nothing happened. Either it's a single algorithmic glitch, or it's an algorithmic quirk that's made someone go 'hang on, we need our mandated 80K daily "Riptide" streams' and then it gets 'fixed'.

Looks like Sabrina is going to be at 6 million YouTube views for the first 24 hours. If we say the UK is 10% that’s 600k views which is decent probably 400k more on the day than ordinary

Right? Now above Sabrina on iTunes already too. Maybe #1 isn’t a foregone conclusion we will have to see what Spotify brings. Sabrina has always been super strong on Spotify

Alex is still ahead of #2 on the overall chart by nearly 2 to 1 so presumably he still had quite a big lead over the pack on Apple.
