I've just heard two girls in Starbucks in Grimsby singing the "is it... stupid or is it... slow?" part of Manchild, so it's official. Manchild is TAKING OVER the coffee community, so I think it's on

  • I've been much less successful at chart predictions in 2025 (so far) than last year but this is a bit freaky! today's Spotify chart: 193. The Stranglers - Golden Brown !!! I assume this has to be

It all depends on day 2 for me, in this economy the biggest songs climb to their peak streams like Ordinary did. Still be no1 though as sales are quite low!

This, even Taylor had massive drops for the whole album on day 2 last year,

We learnt from the giver a huge day one doesn't guarantee anything

I do hope those figures is just from hype and curiosity and the song doesn’t just casually spend 9 weeks at number one by default like Taste last year (as if one sub average hit in Ordinary spending ages at number one isn’t dull enough without having to be immediately followed by another)

Sabrina spent 21 of 52 weeks at #1 last year

So far Alex has spent 12 of 23 weeks at #1 this year

So I guess we have the queen and king of the UK charts duelling it out

Pulp's 'Spike Island' sneaking into the low end of the top 200 on Apple (#193)! Don't remember if it appeared at all when it was first released.

I assume its a song parodying Love Island!?

Ehh, I don't doubt Sabrina will hold up better but a) 'Manchild' is also country influenced and b) this argument really doesn't hold as much weight as it did a few years ago, there have been a ton of successful country pop songs in the UK recently, it probably could have been a great move for Chappell if the song had been received better than it was.

County influenced is alot different then 100% County. How often is a country song number 1 compared to a pop song? Yes country has done better than the past but it still isn't very popular here if you compare it to pop, rnb and rap.

I would still put 'The Giver' in the 'country pop' bucket. It's no more country than songs like 'TEXAS HOLD 'EM', 'I Had Some Help' and 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' which were all huge hits here.

I agree texas hold em, bar tipsy, i had some help are country pop. But The giver is very much country in my opinion and is the reason I didn't like it at all. I don't mind country pop but country i am not a fan of. I think we will just have to agree to disagree here.

I feel like Country does better than rap in the charts, at least the past couple of years. Even some of the pop hits recently like Please Please Please sound like Country songs with extra synths.

Expecting to be alone here, but the new Teddy Swims song - God Went Crazy - is really not that bad at all.

^My plan is to never ever listen to it (if possible) ☠️

apparently the new Teddy Swims is the lead

for I've Tried Everything but Therapy The Complete Edition

which is probably gonna be 59 songs long :D

Yeah it’s nothing like his other stuff. Sounds like boys 2 men or something like that

OK might sound like a stupid question as Teddy swims now releasing ITEBT the complete collection , how does that work streaming and sales wise do they only go TCC or do the go to both either part 1 and TCC or Part 2 and TCC depending on where the song appears

Depends if the complete collection counts as a greatest hits/compilation as songs can only count towards 1 studio album and 1 compilation for the charts

Well it is technically a compilation I guess, but yeah thats what I thought
