Not a bad list. I like that Maroon 5 song even though it wasn't up to the standard of their earlier music. The last decent James Bond film soundtrack was Skyfall.

These three the best out of it:

2 Supermen Lovers Ft Mani Hoffman - Starlight

4 Uncle Kracker - Follow Me

7 Eve Ft Gwen Stefani - Let Me Blow Ya Mind

Horrible #1.

Also Five coming to the end of their chart career and Blue only really starting.

UK top 10 this week in 2000 (I realise the 00, 05, 10 and 15 years are also covered in the UK chart thread too lol)

2 Kylie Minogue - On A Night Like This

3 S Club 7 - Natural

4 Sonique - Sky

5 Aurora Ft Naimee Coleman - Ordinary World

6 Sugababes - Overload

7 Vanessa Amorosi - Absolutely Everybody

8 Wyclef Jean Ft The Rock and Melky Sedeck - It Doesn't Matter

9 Element Four - Big Brother UK TV Theme

10 Sash! - With My Own Eyes

Good timing for Element Four to come up as the new series of Big Brother U.K. starts next week! That has no right being such a banger tbh.

My other biggest highlights are courtesy of Modjo and Sugababes wub

'On A Night Like This' and 'Sky' are both good follow-ups to big #1 hits though.

I also think 'Natural' is quite an underrated S Club single. Rachel shines in her rare turn at leading a song and the oboe is quite a standout instrument.

'Absolutely Everybody' is pretty euphoric too. My clubbercise instructor had a phase of including it in her classes for a little while *.*

I don't immediately recall how the Sash! and Wyclef songs go. I knew the Aurora version of 'Ordinary World' before the original, thanks to the Now! series, but got to the Duran Duran one eventually and adore it nowadays. In fact it's probably their best song for me. So I don't really seek out the cover any longer.

Paolo 41 with 'Last Request' due to X Factor the weekend before!

'Empire State Of Mind' and 'Sweet Disposition' climbing up or climbing into the top 10 was positive highlights that week.

Shakira a big fave and IGF - though it did suffer from overkill obviously.

'She Wolf' is a big favourite for me too! I still find it so random that the lead singer of The Bravery was one of the writers on it lol

'Empire State of Mind' and 'Sweet Disposition' are my other highlights from that top 10. wub

Break Your Heart & Run This Town are two songs I still listen to quite regularly. So they’d be my pick of the bunch from this list.

Pixie Lott's 'Boys and Girls' was such a disappointment for me at the time compared to 'Mama Do'.

'Sexy Chick' I soon got bored of at the time although now I appreciate the possible 90s eurodance influence of the synth riff. Both Guetta and Akon had better songs though.

'Sweet Disposition', one of the last big indie hits of the 00s.

Dirty Cash by Adventures of Stevie V on its first revival in the charts via the Dizzee Rascal track, the second revival was last year with PAWSA.

Strong Top 10 at the time. 'Dirtee Cash' is kinda dated now.

Poor 'Empire State of Mind'. Never got to #1.

What a moment seeing MCR at the top of the chart that week *. Lol at Hoff sneaking a second week in the top 10.

Not much of note for new entries (though that Meat Loaf track that'll enter the top 40 next week was great) this week but will have to check that Placebo track!

Some fantastic tracks in the Top 10.

Now classic MCR, Razorlight, Scissor Sisters, The Killers and Justin Timberlake songs.

I prefer Beatfreakz's 'Somebody's Watching Me' personally.

I didn't mind 'Come To Me' at the time. Nicole enhances the song but then... I won't say more for now.

I like 'Checkin' It Out' to be honest. Dated vocals for sure but it's good fun.

This was around the time I was starting my VCE. (GCSE's) and it was only a few months after I turned 18. Whilst the chart is a little different to what it was in Australia it does bring back the memories of the time.

2006 has some absolutely cracking chart toppers!

Just in that top 10 alone you have the likes of 'Welcome to the Black Parade', 'I Don't Feel Like Dancin' and 'Sexyback' - amazing. wub

That Hoff song was also a thing. x
