Possibly of interest to soul/dance fans, although the video quality is crap. The only song I bought in the top 10 was Like A Prayer but I like Round Round, Alone, and up to a point Colourblind and Anyone Of Us. Half A Heart was ok, at least it was a change in sound compared to their other songs which could have easily been by Steps. The Hear'say single cover always made me laugh, the photographer probably asked them to look brooding but instead got 'pissed off'. August 29Aug 29 #8 was '5 Years Time' (and was a good one back then). Interesting moment for Noah And The Whale before their prime album era in 2011. Edited August 29Aug 29 by AllStarBySmashMouth

It was definitely the highlight of 2008 and quite controversial at the time. Not that it bothered me.I didn't know The Verve made a comeback! 😯5 Years Time is a guilty pleasure of mine. It has that quaint, British, summery feel to it. Edited August 31Aug 31 by montyj

September 1Sep 1 This was a solid top 10 for me, 2008 charts tended to be quite dire a lot of the time but I like all but Kid Rock in the top 10. Beggin' and The Script I can probably do without too.Still love Disturbia, Dance Wiv Me and especially No Air, shame Chris Brown is on it as it's one of the best R&B ballads of this century for me. 5 Years Time is such a lovely and charming song and I still have affection for I Kissed A Girl and even Love Is Noise, which I thought was a solid comeback single. Also very fond of Boyfriend and Save The Lies of the other new entries. I loved Alphabeat so much <3 Crazy World felt like it should have been bigger but was an unusual sounding hit at the time, would probably fit 2011's charts more.
September 1Sep 1 "I Kissed A Girl" was a big number one hit in my chart. It's obviously her best single. Edited September 1Sep 1 by Last Dreamer
September 5Sep 5 Author Heading to 2013 for this week in...1 Ellie Goulding - Burn2 Avicii - Wake Me Up3 Klangkarussel Ft Will Heard - Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine)4 Lana Del Rey vs Cedric Gervais - Summertime Sadness5 Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop6 Rizzle Kicks - Lost Generation7 Lady Gaga - Applause8 DJ Fresh, Diplo and Dominique Young - Earthquake9 Drake Ft Majid Jordan - Hold On, We're Going Home10 Robin Thicke, T.I. and Pharrell - Blurred LinesNew / Re14 Shane Filan - Everything To Me25 Macklemore Ft Mary Lambert - Same Love34 The 1975 - Sex(52) 39 Bastille - Things We Lost In The Fire40 Kanye West Ft Jamie Foxx - Gold Digger--Some good stuff here and some I didn't care for much. 'Wake Me Up' the highlight for me by far, was my top track of the year too. Liked that Lana remix too and solid effort from Gaga but probs not held up quite as much as her other lead singles. That's a decent Drake track. Can't hum the Rizzle's song. Bastille and Macklemore are good additions lower down. What was the reason for 'Gold Digger' returning that week? Presuming it's from X Factor starting again but not totally sure..
September 5Sep 5 Summertime Sadness for me, big fave. Blurred Lines, I recall commenting on Buzzjack, as I posted my charts with it as a brand new hot new entry, that I hoped Robin & Pharrell had been in touch with the Marvin Gaye estate, (as it was a complete obvious wholesale borrow of Got To Give It Up). Turns out they hadn't, oops, that was costly!
September 5Sep 5 "Earthquake" by DJ Fresh has got to be the most bizarre sounding track in that list.I don't think there was anything else that sounded like that in 2013. Edited September 5Sep 5 by montyj
September 5Sep 5 Summertime Sadness remix is the best of that chart; liked it at the time. The remix is more interesting imo.Wake Me Up was an interesting song at the start of its radio airplay, certainly was different to anything else in the chart. The Bastille track I much preferred to Pompeii.Deep house bored me at the time so I didn't like Sonnentanz that much. The Drake song also bored me back then.Earthquake I really disliked.I liked Lost Generation and its social commentary lyrics.

September 12Sep 12 Uncle Kracker was an interesting one for me at the time. It was omitted from Now 51 but did appear on Hits 51, and at the time it seemed like something different to the majority of what the charts offered at the time. Could imagine it would not trouble the charts if released now, but another example of a one hit wonder from the 21st century.
