Welcome all to the 18th edition of Nuggets. I am your host and as a proud winner of previous contest, thanks to Uche Yara and her amazing piece 'www she hot'.

This round as every other rounds, we’re keeping it classic: guitar-based songs only.

Whether it’s a searing solo, a jangly rhythm line, or a riff that changed your life, if the guitar is front and center, it's fair game.

Genre is wide open from rock, metal, folk, funk, post-punk, shoegaze, surf...just make sure the six-strings (or twelve, or maybe even four?) take the lead.

If you're new to Nuggets, welcome <3 and if you're a returning player, you know the drill.

Dig deep, think creatively, and share a track that deserves the spotlight.

Let’s see who brings the tastiest riff, the most iconic lick, or the hidden gem that leaves us all wondering how we missed it.

Please submit them by Friday 29th of August by 23:59PM (British Time).

And last but not least, here are the few rules that each one of you needs to read them:

The artist or band must not have reached the top 75 of the UK singles chart (ideally not the albums chart either).

The song cannot have been submitted to any previous song edition of Nuggets or Unknown Pleasures

The contest is anonymous so please keep your entries to yourself — your entries will be revealed with the results.

If the same artist or band is entered by different people, then the first person to submit will be chosen.

The entries will be confirmed by the moderators of this forum to make sure they follow the rules above.

Not sure how much I'll be able to participate in all these listenthroughs and results threads over the next few weeks, but I'll look forward to hearing all the songs at least - confirmed one here!

Funnily enough I was just thinking about the next Nuggets yesterday but totally didn't see this thread until now. As I'm planning to send a hard rock entry to this month's BJSC I'm going for a lighter sound for this contest although will confirm probably tomorrow.
