Oh dear, I am definitely in my flop era for anonymous song contests I was actually hopeful that it wouldn't fade into the background after the positive Synctube reaction, but turns out that translated to only small points to nothing even from people that said they liked it -___ Ah well, in a theme like this I'm taking it as a sign it was too out there and thus fitting the theme the best B-)

Could've gone for a different and less normal track but no regrets going for something a little left field from conventions but still accessible and having some replay/repeat value.

(Also, when's the last time I played a Hiorthøy track? Probably 2010 or 2011? Thank goodness I remembered an artist from long ago.)

I might have ended up thinking too much about the brief/introduction so... at least I tried.

Well I can’t complain at 6th place for 10 minutes of white noise! I thought this was one of the most horrifying things I’d ever heard when the distorted noise came in at 1:39 (hope it didn’t give anyone a hernia), but found it utterly mesmerising and beautiful at the same time! I’m glad quite a few people enjoyed it. Congrats Doctor B and thanks very much to you and seven for the 12s, and also Leww for the 10 plus hosting such a wonderful theme!

5 way tiebreak is crazy though. I don't think that's ever happened in BJSC.

So actually ended up with the top 3 being the same as my own top 3 *.* (albeit the top 2 swapped over). 'Mavka' was an immediate love (and very Jade coded so no shocks at it also getting her 12 x), nice one Joops, plus I do remember discussion on SyncTube of Knifehandchop being a potential contender too so great to see that also coming to fruition for Rollo, have had that one stuck in my head this evening.

Also had one more snap from my top 5 with Christopher Chaplin and voted for 6/10 of the top 10 in all post amendment, nice solid result for Kraftwerk and very happy Air Liquide got top 10 after all as well (not least because I just remembered I bumped it down one point after my relisten argh! so that would have been me saving my own top 10 position, but now a moot point following the scoreboard correction). 2 more of my votes in the top 15, I hadn't really clocked Giant Claw recovering so much from the slow start, and I did predict and hope Blawan would have done a bit better but at least top half isn't too bad, a solid anon contest debut for Klum x So the only bottom half finishers from my votes were Autechre and Ziúr, the latter being so low is very much unjustified :'( 'Luya' was close to my votes too (15th) so also an undeserved last place there!

Pita turning out to be Julian has really thrown me!! Not least with it being literally the last reveal so I was given no reason to doubt my assumption from all along that it would have been !!!'s entry haha. Pretty wild to see such a song finishing in the top 10 but not complaining, I ended up being a bit sad to not find room for it in my votes - it does bring to mind a couple of very noisy BJSC entries I was a big fan of (Candy Claws' 'Exploder Falls' and KMRU/Aho Ssan's 'Resurgence'), this one felt even more out there than those to me but grew to appreciate it anyway.

Also shoutout to Cody finding a song and video combination that really felt like a literal nightmare. Not really my cup of tea but I appreciate the audacity x

After the reaction to my song on SyncTube (i.e. people thinking it just sounded like a normal drum n bass song and/or that it peaked early and didn't need to be so long - which to be fair is valid, could probably cut off a couple of minutes without losing much substance x) I did worry that I had miscalculated and was destined to continue my run of bad form in song contests of late so very pleased to see that not being the case in the end, I do now wonder if it could have done quite well as a BJSC entry but I stand by it fitting into this theme even if it was not exactly comparing to the weirdness of certain others x Thanks muchly to Joops, Klumzee and Savan for a trio of silver medals (trading medals with Joops *.* a good omen for #jupitersephonia? x) and uhsting, blacksquare, Doctor Blind, Lewis, Herbs, Rich, hlavkus, Jade, Leww and Kath for the other points!

Heyyooo first time back at Club Bizarre since the lockdown days (couldn't let a contest with this theme pass by) - and very glad Vatstep DSP went down well! i figured that nutty little breakcore banger was a perfect fit for this~

Generally a strong field too- the Pita track was definitely a WOW moment, plus quite a few awesome artists I'd also considered entering like Nmesh and galen tipton!

Well there's a slice of fortune! Holy shit at that tie-break though, never ever seen the like and probably never will again. In fact, there are tie-breaks aplenty in that scoreboard with 5 other 2-ways meaning nearly half of the participants were involved in one, host's nightmare 😅

Many congrats Doctor B! Wasn't a big fan of this entry, having to listen to it back now to recall it but that's a mighty fine winning margin there so fully deserved. Also another first time winner was really rooting for Mavka out of the main contenders, what a ride that song is. Great to see 4 of my top 5 right up there in the top 10, only my 12-pointer Shitmat not there but still top half so decent enough.

And true to my prediction it was very much a case of (mostly) high scores or bust for my entry although picking up a 1, 2 and 3 as well. I must say, it's probably the best ever 10+ minute song (also yay for actually submitting the longest song of the whole edition) I've ever heard. I love how it just keeps introducing more and more elements to the song throughout. Especially for its time it's an unbelievably impressive piece of work and it had been sat on my potentials playlist for a while. I was likely holding it for a The Best Song Contest In The World... Ever! but it absolutely fit the bill here too. And an eventual 10th position is a new finishing position for me in Club Bizarre too yay.

I thought I was the only participant to vote for both of the bottom 2 songs but I see Addy also did (#tastekings), shame to see that as they were both standouts for me in such a stacked field.
