Good performance for Ariana and Kelly year-on-year. Bad for everything else.

It was this week last year Christmas songs entered the top 40 right? Hopefully they aren't in this early this year...

They seem to be down a bit this year on last year (Mariah and Wham certainly), so hopefully this miss out this week. Think they will almost certainly enter the following week though

Strange when the markets have started evening earlier than ever well at least manchester has

I don't see a point in announcing the streaming performance of Christmas songs "good" or "bad" in November.

Surprised you're not jumping at the chance to brand them an underperformance lol

song in the singular it was: Mariah Carey was #38 but Wham! just outside at #43

given their slower start this year neither should challenge for top 40 this week

It was bitterly cold this time last year afaik. We had snow a week Friday (I remember it well for personal reasons~) which would've affected the Christmas song playcounts. There are multiple factors at play!

Santa Tell Me now establishing itself as the third post popular Christmas song.

I think this will change as we get into December, it always starts well due to Ariana fans streaming it. Brenda will definitely overtake at the very least

🎄Apple 🎄

56 Wham! - Last Christmas (Single Version)

109 Shakin' Stevens - Merry Christmas Everyone

111 Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas Is You

137 The Pogues - Fairytale of New York (feat. Kirsty MacColl)

151 Kelly Clarkson - Underneath the Tree

187 Leona Lewis - One More Sleep

189 Elton John - Step into Christmas

190 Andy Williams - It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

However, Mariah was #26 and Wham #28 in the corresponding 2023 chart.

I’m not sure if I remember correctly, but I think last year on both Apple and Amazon, Mariah had two versions comparatively high. That would mean that she’s not as far behind Wham! as she seems.

That’s certainly the case on Amazon which has at least two separate charts: one is the top 100 and appears to combine versions putting Mariah ahead. The other chart goes into the 1000s at least, and although Wham! appear to be far ahead, the second version of Mariah is far ahead of the second version of Wham!
