Try That In A Small Town, a.k.a that conservative MAGA anthem made by washed up country star Jason Aldean

it got blocked from getting a #1 debut bc Jungkook decided to bless us with his solo work on the same week and EVERYONE CHEERED bc it’s hella prophetic that a MAGA anthem would get blocked from a milestone by a major pop artist of color

Right, thanks. I'll have to note this down for myself for the future 😉

Well, congrats again Rich! I actually wouldn't have called this one to win at all, but I did like it, had a very atmospheric and interesting vibe. Much as I love Jump In The Pool, it's good to see som

I just love how someone potentially got a book recommendation from this thread

I bring good pop songs and a love for lesbian literature. If I was single that’d be the tag line for my dating profile….

To the surprise of absolutely NOBODY Paris was going to be my choice and it was the one I contemplated on switching to after I’d confirmed! Lol. It’s pop perfection imo! Not surprised to see it was RobBot that sent it. King of taste etc.. cheeseblock

This results show inspired me to listen to Lamb's Fear of Fours album (odd title but it was inspired by their avoidance of 4/4 time signatures on this album) and my god, this track never fails to bring me into some sort of strange musical bliss. I'd love to maybe enter it to BJSC someday.

Chuckling at my whinging about not getting my first picks of entries followed by my entry receiving 3 sets of 12 in a row.

I was like …ahh I’ll shut up being an ungrateful cow xx

Lol I missed the entire first half of the results because I slept through them, apologies, I really become more and more like Math every day x

Will hopefully be around for the remainder - these are some interesting looking results so far, I'm not quite sure who I'd have predicted to be leading but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been either of the songs currently in the joint lead! OceanLab and Yanou were both some pretty good retro trance entries which I see is proving popular so far as well. Most of my main favourites are bunched up around midtable, quite disappointing to see Fiona Apple so low at the moment so I hope there are just lots of late votes for her, I did pretty much assume that was Jade's entry as I already discovered the song off her before but yay for it being brought to more people via this x Good picks from Herbs, Josh, Chez (I was thoroughly fooled into assuming that was Dandy x), Mattias, Jim, Scene, Cody and Rollo as well! Imogen Heap in the bottom 2 at the moment is very much not on, where are you alt bloc :'( (I did laugh a bit catching up with the thread and seeing Paris Hilton getting 3 12s in a row off the bat lol - that being a 5th choice entry is lowkey iconic)

Remaining in mystery and intrigue for my own entry which may or may not be performing exactly as I expected it would.

Aside: mind blown discovering the guy from Cherry Ghost is Simon Aldred (the singer on Avicii's 'Waiting For Love', which I coincidentally just heard on Radio 1 this morning, must have been years since the last time I heard it before that...!)

Ok doing my proper thanks so far

Thanks to Chez and Jim for the max points :)

Thanks to Jade, Matto & Addy for the batch of 7’S

Thanks to Viper and Lee for the 5’s

& thanks to Cody for the point :)

My guesses:

20 Tafty - Sara Bareilles - Satellite Call

Now into a singer/songwriter who despite being a known-ish name, Sara Bareilles, she only managed to have one hit in UK, and that is 'Love Song' peaking at #4. Love Song was also a winner of BJSC in very early days of a contest!!!

I’ve been so busy last few days (unexpectedly) so apologies it’s last minute but I have heard everything! (This bit doesn’t need putting in the results - just the 12-1 pointer will suffice!)

I had a feeling Jonjo might be behind Sara Bareilles as I remember him loving the album, but thought he'd send Chasing The Sun from the same album (which I considered for this!).

A very close board, not surprised to be overtaken so soon.

Paris 12'ing her way to the top?
