  • I only know about Calvin’s ‘SMOKE THE PAIN AWAY’.   Yay at HAVEN., Robyn and Sonny Fodera being A Listed this week. I wonder if Lily’s team will push another single, if so I think it should be ‘Rumina

'Moody' is the best song on Royel Otis' album so I'm happy to see that there, although I wish they'd have added it when it was originally released as a single earlier this year.

Not sure why they're suddenly only now supporting Henry Moodie when this is the fourth single from the album - where was that support at the start of the campaign? Maybe they were adding the Royel Otis song and thought "oh, what about that other Moodie" lol

Can't believe they removed Lily Allen already when Role Model and PinkPantheress have been on the playlist longer, at least Lily's charting!

Going by other years, this is likely to be the last playlist update before the Christmas freeze.

I wasn’t expecting ‘moody’ to be the next push. It was released in May(!), before ‘car’ and ‘who’s your boyfriend’ were released. I think it’s the weakest of the three, but still good nonetheless.

How that boring David Guetta song is still on there I’ll never know.

Good add for Sub Focus - I’m glad they’ve chose ‘Elevate’ rather than ‘Entwined’.

Worth noting that there aren’t anthem shows between Christmas and New Year, it looks like ‘normal’ shows. So I reckon we’ll get one more playlist next week.

I'm the opposite lol I think 'Moody' is the best thing Royel Otis have ever done and with Sob Focus I much prefer 'Entwined' to 'Elevate'!

Didn't realise they're not doing anthems this year, maybe there will be another playlist next week then. It does say this playlist is from the 12th-18th on the website, which made me wonder, but I wasn't sure if that was just an oversight on their part. I guess we'll find out next week!

I believe last year they also had the playlist initially listed as just a week before alternating it, so it’s up in the air!

Great to see Robyn up to A-list even after all these years and excited about F-C-U-K-ers (already had a decent run on my personal chart) and Sub Focus.

Nice to see Robyn upped to the A List, who says they don’t push (older) female artists.

Also on the Royal Otis debate I’m Car>Whos Your Boyfriend>Moody

Wish that Amber Mark song was A Listed, it’s such an ear worm.

Also not surprising they haven’t expanded the Sleigh List like R2, maybe they’ll compensate that by actually playing them more eqch day closer to Xmas and making them the focus Xmas tracks!

Here's a little quiz for you all.

Calvin Harris, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift have been the three most prolific acts on R1's playlist over the last 15 years and have amassed, between them, a staggering 105 tracks on the playlist since I started tracking it in 2012. None of the three have had a single song stall on the C-list in all that time.

Calvin has had 37 entries on the playlist, of which 34 made the A-list.

Ed has had 34 entries on the playlist, of which 31 made the A-list.

Taylor has had 34 entries on the playlist, of which 30 made the A-list.

(These are all as lead artist only and remember they are only since the start of 2012)

Can you name, without looking anything up, the 3 Calvin tracks, the 3 Ed tracks and the 4 Taylor tracks which only made the B-list?

And then, can you also name the two acts who make up the rest of the top five, with 30 and 28 tracks respectively appearing on the playlist since 2012?

Go!

The tracks that didn’t make the A List are likely late singles….

‘Celestial’ is the only potential one I can think of. Either that or a song from ‘=‘ later in 2022.

'Celestial' is correct for one point!

I dont think, life goes on, was an official single so doubt that got playlisted at all, did he send anything from AV anywhere

'Give Me Love' and possibly 'My G' for the other two of Ed's?

'Give Me Love' is correct! The latter wasn't Ed as least artist so isn't included in the 34. So still one more Ed song left to find.

Edit: actually now I think about it I don't think it was 'Give Me Love' but a different song from +. I'm out at the moment so can't check the spreadsheet until I get home in a couple of hours but I'm pretty sure I'm right about that!

Gonna suggest The Last Time and New Romantics for Taylor perhaps? Both late in the era singles. Out of the Woods also a possibility thinking
