91 Powfu - after | 24-5-10-18-23-28-32-36-x

92 ROLE MODEL - Sally, When the Wine Runs Out | 24-18-24-x-13-6-5-5-11-14-...

93 Louise - Only Dancer | 7-11-5-19-29-38-x

94 MOLIY, Silent Addy, Skillibeng & Shenseea - Shake It to the Max (FLY) | 8-15-22-31-32-32-25-35-x

95 JADE - IT girl | 6-10-17-35-x

96 Anne-Marie - I Don't Like Your Boyfriend | 1-6-11-24-28-31-35-x

97 Will Linley - American Dream | 36-14-8-20-24-29-33-x-31-30-33-x

98 Raffi Maxwell - EYES | 9-14-17-21-31-x

99 Benson Boone - Wanted Man | 6-7-14-22-28-33-x

100 Artemas - test drive | 5-12-28-29-34-x

Sound the #1 alarm, as we enter into the top 100 and lose a #1 in our first section! Anne-Marie claims this year's lowest placed chart-topper with I Don't Like Your Boyfriend, one half of her first double release of 2025. It's not applicable to all of her #1s, but it does certainly sit alongside some of her earliest #1s in my chart, which made the top spot while bigger hits like Ciao Adios and Alarm got unlucky. It's a really fun track and I don't regret the #1 spot at all, but it's safe to say it maximised the timing, arriving a week before one of the busiest charts of 2025.

Normal service resumes in the rest of the section as top 5 hits become more commonplace, but we still have a few low top 10 hits too, including a #9 peaker from Raffi Maxwell. EYES peaked lower than its predecessor THE FIRST TIME by one place, but outpaces it by over 100 spots in this countdown. I love the Kylie Fever-esque production of EYES, it's a surprisingly genius direction for him! JADE just missed the top 5 last January with IT girl, her second highest track of 2025, while Will Linley's American Dream is his highest. With an irresistible chorus, American Dream climbed to the top 10 after I saw him supporting Knox, and then re-entered after I saw him at his headline show. There's also a breakthrough hit for MOLIY as the remix of Shake It to the Max (FLY) shakes itself into my top 100 of the year - certainly one of the most fun chart hits of the year.

Also in this section are album tracks from Benson Boone and Powfu. Wanted Man is the highest placed non-single (or promo single) from American Heart, and it was love at first listen, with its high energy 80s-style production. Powfu's after was my immediate favourite from the life of a lofi boy, and marked his highest charting track without any collaborators since 2022 #2 hit Mine. He has one more song to appear as a feature but all of his lead artist songs have now appeared. ROLE MODEL's Sally, When the Wine Runs Out was a slow-burning hit, despite his debut album being an immediate smash for me. Finally, it made my top 5 near the end of 2025, after hearing it for the first time in a while at Will Linley's gig, funnily enough. Lastly, Louise remixed Only Dancer for its single release, beefing the production up and adding that little extra touch of magic that made it her very first top 5 hit in my chart, and her first EOY top 100 hit now as well.

81 Knox - A Heart Still Breaks | 15-18-19-21-19-20-23-26-36-x-31-x

82 Tom Odell - Don't Let Me Go | 2-5-13-18-22-28-34-x

83 Fin Argus - Playboy 1973 | 3-5-6-11-30-x

84 Kesha, Slayyyter & Rose Gray - ATTENTION! | 5-6-12-17-23-29-x

85 MARINA - CUNTISSIMO | 5-12-20-26-x

86 Arden Jones - someone new | 4-6-...

87 Artemas - eat me alive | 5-11-23-30-39-x

88 Elevator Boys - California | 3-5-13-32-x

89 Perrie - If He Wanted To He Would | 5-10-13-25-31-38-x

90 Justin Bieber - DAISIES | 3-6-13-22-25-29-37-x

Song titles themselves are rarely particularly exciting, but there's nothing that grabbed me in 2025 quite like CUNTISSIMO, which was the third single from MARINA's latest album. The track delivered on such a title too, with a pulsating beat and irresistible chorus. It's her second highest track in this year's countdown! Another interesting title was Playboy 1973, the comeback single for singer and actor Fin Argus. Since releasing their last single in 2022, they've embraced their queer, non-binary identity fully, and this song is an ode to finding yourself through a porn magazine - considerably more beautiful a song than you'd expect from such a descriptor. Also making a comeback in 2025 was Justin Bieber, and the SWAG campaign's lead single DAISIES ends up as his highest charting track of the year. It was great to see he still has the ability to take a song to #1 in the UK! No other song in this section was a top 40 hit, and the only other one to chart at all was Perrie's If He Wanted To He Would, a great track to lead into her album release. It's her top song of the year, and I'd say it's her second best song overall, behind debut hit Forget About Us.

Artemas' second highest hit of the year is the infectious eat me alive, which would make a brilliant addition to any Halloween playlist going forward. Tom Odell kickstarted his latest album era with the gorgeous Don't Let Me Go, a #2 hit in my chart. German boyband Elevator Boys caught my eye through their surprise (and brief) playlist spot on Capital FM, and California made for an excellent summer hit, as did Kesha's rambunctious ATTENTION!, a team-up that provided both Slayyyter and Rose Gray with their first hits in my chart. Arden Jones returned to my top 10 for the first time in 2 years and matched his personal best with someone new, which has already become his longest-running top 10 hit (now up to 4 weeks in the top tier). Finally, we arrive at our highest non-top 10 hit, courtesy of an album track from Knox's Going, Going, Gone album. A Heart Still Breaks is the first of 11 (!) Knox songs to feature in my top 100, and one of 14 across the whole top 300.

Top 100 time *.*

Only Dancer is definitely one of the stand out moments on Louise's album - excellent taste that it made Top 5 in your charts and happy to see it this high in your Year-End cheeseblock

Justin Bieber, Perrie, MARINA and Kesha are my top faves from the latest section heart Honestly I've never been that into Marina but CUNTISSIMO is definitely one of my favourites she's released to date, tune x

74 Tate McRae - Just Keep Watching | 2-5-11-25-27-32-39-40-x

75 Skinny Atlas & Powfu - Don't Ever Think Twice | 3-5-10-21-28-37-x

78 Sugababes - Shook | 4-7-14-27-36-x

79 Lily Allen - Dallas Major | 7-7-11-18-21-23-26-34-x

80 Saga Ludvigsson - Hate You So Much | 4-7-13-24-31-x

A few artists who have appeared multiple times though the countdown see their luck run out in this section, including Isac Elliot, with title track Vanhasta Uuteen tying for his highest Finnish-language peak. Tom Odell's highest song is also here, with the touching and delicate Don't Cry, Put Your Head on My Shoulder being my biggest take-away from his latest album. JADE's highest placed track is #5 hit FUFN, a track I loved hearing live at the Summertime Ball, even if it was in censored form! After multiple collaborations together, Powfu returned the favour for Skinny Atlas at the start of the year, and it ends up as his top track of 2025. A rising star the last couple of years, Alex Spencer reached his best position so far with his most recent single Masks, a gorgeous ballad that has me really hyped to finally see him live for the first time next month.

Lily Allen has five songs in the top 100, and the first to show up is the criminally underrated Dallas Major, a #7 hit in the week of the album's release. Tate McRae's first of three top 100 appearances is with F1 movie song Just Keep Watching, while sombr's first top 100 hit of three is undressed, which has a very respectable chart run for a track that "only" peaked at #8. Sugababes are at #78 with Shook, leaving one further track in the countdown, while Melodifestivalen country bop Hate You So Much is the first of two for Saga Ludvigsson, a newcomer to my chart in 2025.

Nice to see Don't Cry, Put Your Head On My Shoulder pop up here, a lovely song which is certainly very toned-back but works well I think. I can see quite a lot of other Tom Odell songs scattered throughout the sections since I last commented so will need to give some of those a listen at some point!

Really like these songs on here:

71 sombr - undressed | 8-14-23-22-25-31-34-36-36-37-39-x

72 JADE - FUFN (f*** You for Now) | 5-11-16-24-28-32-x

74 Tate McRae - Just Keep Watching | 2-5-11-25-27-32-39-40-x

89 Perrie - If He Wanted To He Would | 5-10-13-25-31-38-x

90 Justin Bieber - DAISIES | 3-6-13-22-25-29-37-x

92 ROLE MODEL - Sally, When the Wine Runs Out | 24-18-24-x-13-6-5-5-11-14-...

94 MOLIY, Silent Addy, Skillibeng & Shenseea - Shake It to the Max (FLY) | 8-15-22-31-32-32-25-35-x

70 Saga Ludvigsson - Country Boy | 4-8-13-16-25-32-x

Two songs from my album of 2025 feature here, as Knox comes close to bookending the section. Now & Then, the album's fiery opening track, lands at #69, one of a rapidly decreasing number of non-top 5 hits still in the running. White Knuckles is at the top of the section, having been added to the album's deluxe edition re-issue in August. Its anthemic vibe is a brilliant addition to the album, and it sounded great live too! Another non-top 5 hit appears in this section, courtesy of a team-up between Alan Walker and Robin Packalen. It marked the former's first top 10 hit since Man on the Moon (with Benjamin Ingrosso) over three years prior, and Robin's first since #1 hit Girls Like You two years beforehand. Melanie C returned to my top 10 for the first time since 2020 as she kickstarted the Sweat album era with its title track, a high-energy track made for workout playlists (if I had such a thing). It was blocked from the top 2 by Alec Benjamin's Pretending, which is just two spots higher in my EOY, and his second highest track of 2025.

At the beginning of the year, I stumbled upon Country Boy by Saga Ludvigsson on Sweden's New Music Friday playlist (which I check most weeks as a way of keeping up with some of my Melodifestivalen favourites). I didn't realise at the time that Saga herself was doing Melfest in 2025, but Country Boy was a great taster and became her first top 10 hit! Fred Roberts returned with a top 2 hit in Object of Desire, a song I'd heard live a few times before finally being released, and I'd heard The Room by Marcus & Martinus at their London show early in the year too, so I was delighted that it finally got released later in the year, also becoming the title track of their album. MARINA scored her first (!) top 5 hit with BUTTERFLY, the lead single from her latest album, on a very competitive week no less. Finally, Lily Allen's fourth highest track appears - Tennis is one of the most key elements of West End Girl, and works hand-in-hand with the track that follows it, Madeline, which is still in the running.

51 dearALICE - Drums | 32-10-7-3-8-15-22-30-x-38-x

52 almost monday - can't slow down | 5-3-9-14-19-27-36-x

53 glaive - Appalachia | 26-3-8-14-27-33-34-36-36-39-x

54 Taylor Swift - The Fate of Ophelia | 2-4-6-19-20-27-32-36-40-x

55 Conan Gray - This Song | 1-4-9-20-26-31-37-37-x

56 Eddie Benjamin - MANIAC | 3-7-10-12-21-34-x

57 The Kid LAROI - SHE DON'T NEED TO KNOW | 1-3-12-16-27-31-33-34-x

58 Alec Benjamin - The Knife in My Back | 2-7-10-21-26-23-27-x

59 Mariah Carey - Type Dangerous | 3-3-15-18-23-28-31-36-x

60 Demi Lovato - Kiss | 3-5-17-18-25-29-34-x

We finally lose another couple of #1s in this section. The Kid LAROI added another six to his insane tally of chart-toppers this year, and the first to drop is SHE DON'T NEED TO KNOW, a sexy summer bop that sounds like it could have been a hit for Justin Timberlake and Pharrell twenty years ago, in a good way! This vibe got scrapped soon after when Laroi's relationship ended and a break-up album followed, but it made for a fun single. Conan Gray launched the Wishbone era with This Song, which perfectly set up what would turn out to be a landmark era for him. Its music video is also one of my favourites of the year, and for the first time, depicts a love interest of a specific gender. The song is great regardless, and it's his top song of the year. Narrowly missing the top spot, Alec Benjamin nonetheless achieved his top track of 2025 with The Knife in My Back, an old demo from his early YouTube days, fully re-recorded, polished, and released for the first time. Taylor Swift also features here with #2 hit The Fate of Ophelia, marking her highest EOY position since Anti-Hero three years ago.

Mariah Carey made a fiery comeback with Type Dangerous, which soared to a #3 debut. Her last non-festive top 10 hit as a primary artist was Infinity ten years before! Demi Lovato also made #3 with the seductive banger Kiss, as did glaive with the high energy Appalachia. Both have a #1 single each still to feature. More #3s complete the section, with the first hit for indie pop band almost monday, the first of three songs to feature this year for dearALICE, and the highest song for Australia's Eddie Benjamin. MANIAC is delightfully erratic and took a couple of listens to click, but is comfortably his best performing track in any of my EOYs thus far.

44 Benson Boone - Momma Song | 1-3-7-7-12-21-27-32-33-37-x

45 Kyle Alessandro - Lighter | 8-1-4-12-17-27-37-x

46 dearALICE - Sweet | 2-4-9-14-26-22-30-34-35-x

47 Marino - Devil in Disguise | 6-8-9-4-16-22-30-x

48 sombr - back to friends | 10-6-11-16-20-24-27-24-27-30-31-33-39-x

49 Nomi Tales - Funniest Thing | 1-2-8-15-26-29-30-30-x

50 Rita Ora - Heat | 2-2-14-17-21-24-29-34-x

It's something of a tradition for a yearly Melodifestivalen #1 in my chart nowadays, but 2025's choice was one I didn't see coming. Competition newcomer Nomi Tales took her spooky pop track to my top spot despite failing to qualify from the heat. She's a one-hit-wonder thus far, but Funniest Thing remains a fantastic song and it's extremely underrated in my view! Actually making it to Eurovision, Kyle Alessandro had my favourite entry of the year with Lighter, and it zoomed to #1 in the week of the final.

Benson Boone loses his first of four #1s in the form of the sweet Momma Song, an ode to both of his parents. It just pipped dearALICE to a second consecutive #1 with Sweet, which lands just two places lower. Sugababes achieved their second #1 with Jungle in the first half of the year, a superb example of how to update your sound without losing that distinctive Sugababes feel! I'm really hoping 2026 brings a new Sugababes album. Ruel just misses the top 40 with lead single I Can Die Now, though he has one more chart-topper to come.

Rita Ora didn't quite make #1 with comeback single Heat, blocked by The Kid LAROI's ALL I WANT IS YOU for two weeks, but it did go down a storm at the Summertime Ball and is one of my favourite summer tunes of 2025. Lily Allen's Madeline got the internet talking, and rightfully so, it's a fantastic song, and the spoken word element only adds to the context of both the song and the album! She's got two more songs to come. Newcomer Marino had a viral hit with Devil in Disguise, and though it didn't quite make the UK top 40, it spent four weeks in my top 10. I still have no idea who he actually is, and I've never heard any more of his music, but even my mum liked the song which is pretty rare...! Finally, the highest non-top 5 hit comes from sombr, back to friends was his first hit, and despite spending only 2 weeks in my top 10, it has the longest chart run of any song in this section (so far, Madeline's still charting!). sombr has one more song still to come!

Pleased Lorde managed a new top 10 as a lead artist in your chart for the first time in a while wub 'What Was That' was a great start to her new era! Also pleased to see more Oklou in that section and Miley, shame that 'End of the World' didn't take off very much, I guess the release strategy for this album was a bit of a mess.

Yay 'twilight zone', 'Weeds', 'IT girl', 'Shook' and 'The Fate of Ophelia' appearing too <3 would love these Sugababes droplets to turn into an album at some point!!

I like seeing "Madeline", "Jungle", "Lighter", "Back To Friends", "Heat", "The Fate Of Ophelia" and "Sweat" on here.

I've already spoken a fair bit about sombr throughout this thread, but it's a pretty cool achievement to score one of my top 40 favourite songs of the year as a complete newbie to me. The only other artists in this top 40 to have never made my chart before 2025 are Jack Avery (as a soloist, though he did many times as part of Why Don't We), TZUYU (a feature) and Tribbs (a DJ, with a song that features Klara Hammarström on vocals, who has a #1 to her name). 12 to 12 is the (joint) lowest peaking song in this top 40 too, so it makes it even more of an achievement, but the song speaks for itself, with its infectious instrumental setting the tone immediately, not to mention how many hooks the song includes! It finishes as sombr's highest placed track of the year.

39 Knox - Pick Your Poison | 2-10-16-22-30-38-x-29-x-20-40-x

I'll be writing a lot about Knox in my top 40 as he has EIGHT songs featuring...!! It's important to acknowledge where his blockbuster 2025 began, though, and it was with this track. Pick Your Poison isn't that far removed from previous Knox tracks, which is no bad thing, he knows precisely what sound works for him. It's got a really fun singalong chorus and set the tone for the album really well, and despite being a little overshadowed by some of the album tracks, even a midtable track on the album is worthy of such a high EOY chart position!

38 Demi Lovato - Fast | 1-1-2-12-17-21-36-36-x

I've been aboard the Demi train for quite some time. I've enjoyed each of her albums, particularly from Unbroken onwards, and she's released plenty of songs I love. Intriguingly, though, a #1 single had eluded her until 2025. Well, not quite, she'd achieved two before, but both as a feature, with The Vamps in 2024 and Cheat Codes in 2017. None of Demi's own material had made #1, though Cool for the Summer and Sorry Not Sorry had made it to #2. In comes Fast, the lead single from Demi's first album in three years. The punk rock vibes are thrown out in favour of dance beats that are giving Bebe Rexha, and that's a compliment! Generic perhaps, but Demi sells it so well, and not only did it soar to a #1 debut, it spent two weeks there, and now gives Demi her highest EOY position since 2017.

12 to 12 is easily Sombr's best song for me, the others are dreary in comparison imo. I really like the new wave/indie disco vibes with it, one of the chart songs of the year for me.
