January 9Jan 9 Hi Ren silver and Lose Control gold is good to see. Kenny Rogers certified after mentioning it in the Christmas number 3 rate is spooky. Can't believe the Pokemon theme was certified, what a banger!
January 10Jan 10 2 dance classics going platinum in 'Mr. Vain' and 'At Night' <3 great to see 'luther' passing the mark too.Oh my at the triple silver certifications for Olivia Dean. Poor 'Baby Steps' not yet getting to chart at all despite having an almost identical level of popularity overall to the other two songs which have both had their turns in the chart well inside the top 40.
January 12Jan 12 At Night is doing well. Since streaming its got a new certificate every 3/4 years. 2x Platinum in 2030

Doing a certification search for one song/album shouldn't be so laborious! I mean, have a drop down box like the RIAA to show certication history of a particular song/album!

Why BPI can't make the website work the way the OCC website does (which also isn't great but way better!) is beyond me.

I typed in Michael Jackson - Thriller (single) but it lists 2014 as the earliest certification date which is incorrect.

Some releases skip over certifications for absolutely no reason e.g. Mamas and The Papas "Dream A Little Dream Of Me" went straight to gold and skipped silver which threw me off when compiling the biggest songs of the 60s. The original "Do They Know It's Christmas" has all of its certifications available albeit spread across 2 releases. Weird!

Therefore, it doesn’t bother them that they don’t work well.
January 14Jan 14 BPI have changed their address to,https://www.bpi.co.uk/page/certified-awardsYou can now search for MUSIC DVDs for the first time. The awards now go to 26X Platinum. Can't see a list of the Brit Billion streams artists.Don't like the pop-up list for artists - it is too long.No album cover images or Artist pictures. The displayed lists can be sorted on 9 different ways. Can be displayed as a grid or horizontal rows. Good improvement.
January 14Jan 14 New address for BRIT Billion award.https://www.brits.co.uk/brit-billion/See the artists who have been awarded a BRIT Billion Award below, including Ed Sheeran, who became the first artist to receive a Gold version of the Award, celebrating 10 Billion UK streams.
January 14Jan 14 I dont like how on the new BPI site if an artist has collaborated with another artist for a song, you have to search separately or specifically for that duo or collaboration. The old site pulled up everything associated for the artist. Also, it seems to mostly only report the most recent (highest) certification for a song or album rather than every cert awarded like the old site did. I used to enjoy tracking the certification progress of songs or albums that way (ie how long it took to go from silver to gold or gold to platinum etc etc). Edited January 14Jan 14 by Ongarboy

January 14Jan 14 Historically, back in the days when BPI member companies were required to apply for BPI certification for their releases, a single or album's first certification was not necessarily silver. Record companies might wait until. for example, the platinum certification level had been reached. It that situation the BPI would increment the number of certifications at all levels up to the level applied for, i.e. add one to the annual counts for silver, gold and platinum. But they would only list the highest award applied for, and there would not necessarily be an entry for the silver or gold levels for a release whose first requested certification was platinum. If they did create an entry for all three levels they would all have the same certification date.
