Whitney really accumulating the certs lately! I imagine some legacy artists that have their greatest hits albums continously in the Top 100 Albums chart(like Whitney) from constant streaming of their hits will continue to see their unit totals for singles grow and hence earn regular new certifications which is great to see! Bon Jovi similarly so!

lots of 2026 songs securing their certifs there! ‘expectations’ quickly getting to silver with the remix, wihile ‘drop dead’ goes platinum after only 6 months! lovely to see ‘Material Lover’ already hitting gold too! Fontaines instantly silver certified on the album and Phoebe getting hers too is fab!

Definitely great to see some of these legacy hits finally getting certified recognition, though I would also say these acts are more limited in what we will likely see get certified compared to current artists. Unlikely we will see any Whitney album tracks certified in the near future unless any go viral, so limited to those 'greatest hits' compared to current acts whose albums are consumed mainly through streaming.

For comparison, this was Whitney's 20th certification. Before this one, she was matched with Olivia Dean on 19 each and Olivia will likely get her 20th in the next few weeks as another album track crosses the line.

For sure it's not a level playing field for comparison purposes (and I won't even start on pre Feb 1994 uncertified units resetting to zero ..) but the current consumption landscape is what it is....
