Surprise! This is back for 2026 after taking a hiatus for some time, I'm going to be a little less ambitious with it this year in the hopes that makes it more sustainable for me to actually keep these polls going every week x

For anyone who doesn't remember when I did these polls before (/ doesn't follow the weekly polls in the genre forums), it's pretty simple - I'll post one of these polls every week - will aim for Sunday evenings - and just ask you all to vote for your favourites from the week's new entries in the UK Singles Chart top 100. Where songs have entered which have multiple popular versions I'll just list them as one entry and leave it to people's discretion to vote based on whatever version. There will also be a 'none of the above' option for if you want to put in a protest vote. x

Unlike the genre forum polls this is multiple choice - again I'll leave it to your discretion how you want to give votes, if you want to just vote for your favourite each week then go for it, if not you can vote for as many songs as you feel deserve a vote (I will encourage people to make sure they've actually listened to all of the songs before voting but I can't enforce that obviously x). And then feel free to post in the thread any rankings/ratings or general thoughts. The song with the most votes at the end of the week will be the winner and I think I'll copy the genre forum polls' format of having a quarterly vote on the poll winners leading up to an end of year vote for the whole year, rather than the somewhat convoluted monthly polls I did when I did these before.

Despite the clearout of a large chunk of the Christmas songs this is still a pretty anaemic week of new entries so there are only 3 options, but they're all by female solo artists and at least one of them is well established as a BuzzJack favourite so hopefully there shouldn't be too many 'none of the above' votes x

Zara is my clear fave (and will win this easily I'd imagine) but I do also like Sabrina too.

Gonna go with zoo as it’s in my personal chart film aside as I’m not bothered about the film but the song itself is well catchy and the Latin vibe to it aswell is good as I generally like that genre of music

I know all three of the songs so can vote straight away and that was for 'Midnight Sun'!

It initially went over my head a bit but later clicked when I heard it on holiday in September. Fell in love with the song + aesthetics of the music video ever since!

I quite like Zoo and Midnight Sun so I voted for those. The Sabrina song might be a grower idk, but it hasn't really hit me after a couple of listens so I didn't vote for it.

That's exactly the reason they're not playlisting it. They wouldn't have playlisted 'Golden' if it hadn't performed so well.

This is probably it for Zoo seeing as Zootropolis 2 is being removed from a lot of nationwide cinemas after today but it could have another resurgence when Zootropolis 2 hits Disney+

“Midnight Sun” isn’t exactly exciting me but I think it’s the best of the 3 and I’m not keen on abstaining.

“Such A Funny Way” is one of Sabrina’s more interesting songs but that isn’t a high bar.

“Zoo” seems like a failed attempt to recreate the magic of “Waka Waka”. Shame as I do really like “Try Everything”.

Of course it's not a requisite, but surely you'd have to quite like some of what charts (generic pap or not) to have an interest in following the charts?

• Sabrina Carpenter - Such A Funny Way (#37) - I like the switch-up in the middle but overall it's still a bit of a drag

• Zara Larsson - Midnight Sun (#91) - very neat production, hopefully this one can eventually climb into the top 40

• Shakira - Zoo (#92) - nope, get on the compost heap

Great to have this back! I'd still be interested to see the results of the 2023 final at some point too, if at all possible... Voted Zara this time.
