I know it’s very early days, but it’s weird that the biggest song of the year so far hasn’t yet spent a week in the top five in 2026! One of the vagaries of ACR I suppose. I remember it was considere

Getting back into properly tracking the YE chart for now! There's a real lack of songs contending for YE entries right now but we should get Talk To You in and Folded out this week. Strangely I Run hasn't re-entered the dance chart despite showing up again on Spotify so maybe it has been banned from charting again?

Sorry - was 47 down from 46.

How close is HTIMYLM by the way?

adding up the Music Week report sales figures so far, it's on ~220k-ish as of last week so will probably enter the YTD around the week after next - if not, it should definitely enter the week after off the back of petal's (likely) album boost

Has Go not climbed this week?

EDIT forgot to add Wonderwall to my YTD

Edited by gasman449

'Wonderwall' is no stranger to EOYs having appeared in the last 5, wonder how high it can go this year though.

I think the LW positions for some of the top 40 are overwritten - 'Ordinary' is up from 5 to 4 for example.

Nice to see the cure seemingly set to enter next week, would love to see it make the year-end.

Should get The Cure in and House Tour out this week.

Milky is going to go platinum 14 years after release! with 485k of the sales to that being from 2026. Insane.

Happy to see the cure enter the YTD, hopefully stupid song will continue charting high enough to join it in a few weeks (it should be going Silver this week).

So Rein Me In is adding around 4,000 more to its total than Man I Need (based on the last 2 weeks). We have 22 (0r 23 if you go by which year the sales were in) weeks left and its 105,000 behind. If everything stays the same, Man I Need wil remain No.1 by ~17,000 (or 13,000 if you count the chart on 1/1/2027)...

Either way it will be close unless Rein Me In falls behind Man I Need again.

I can’t believe that 30 weeks in and ‘Man I Need’ has spent 28 weeks of this year in the top 3 of Audio Streaming (and the other 2 at number 4).

In fact a total of 41 weeks now in top 3 and 44 in the top 4 - broken only by 3 weeks of Christmas songs and 1 week of a Taylor Swift album drop

Also ‘Rein Me In’ has done similar this year but just for the last 24 weeks - 22 in the top 3, and 2 more at number 4.

Has any song ever achieved a similar feat to ‘Man I Need’?
