I agree. Sitting next to someone in an empty cinema is like standing next to someone at an empty urinal

I really wanted to go and see Obsession but my local cinema is only doing once a night showings of it I won't be able to go to

They usually update their showtimes on Mondays so you’re better off checking now. My local Cineworld was the same but when they updated it today, they put more showings

They've been showing Shrek (2001) in cinemas for a limited time due to its 25th anniversary, which was on the 18th!

Saw Obsession on the 19th. Was my first solo trip to the cinema and was surrounded by couples + groups of friends but at least I didn't have people on either side of me.

Once in a blue moon, I’ve been cinema without seeing someone by themselves. Most times I go, I see someone by themselves. I hate when someone comes and sits right next to you despite the cinema being empty. I don’t mind people sitting next to me if the screen is full but if it’s empty, go and sit somewhere else. I don’t mind people who go by themselves as they’re less likely to talk during the film

I had an entire row to myself then this couple who were late sat right next to me so I did have to move a seat along at first, hate it when people do that, like why would you want to sit next to someone when there's so many more seats i don't get it

I’ve been going a lot less since my local Cineworld shut down last year, and the Omniplex that have bought it are taking a lifetime to reopen it. None of the ones close have to me have any good unlimited style subscriptions sadly, I miss being able to go all the time!

  1. Is This Thing On? (5th February)

  2. Whistle (14th February)

  3. Scream 7 (26th February)

  4. Send Help (2nd March)

  5. Wasteman (5th March)

  6. Dead Man’s Wire (23rd March)

  7. Ready or Not 2: Here I Come (24th March)

  8. Hokum (21st May)

  9. The Devil Wears Prada 2 (26th May)

  10. Backrooms (1st June)

  11. Michael (3rd June)

  12. Scary Movie (9th June)

It’s unfair if you don’t have any other cinemas nearby to you that do subscriptions. I have Cineworld and odeon both next to me and a Cineworld subscription. If my local Cineworld in Telford closed, I’d be torn between keeping the subscription and travelling to Shrewsbury or Wolverhampton or cancelling the subscription and moving over to odeon

Yep :( There’s an Odeon but it’s a bit out of the way to get to, so I’m left with Showcase and Vue, I usually just try to take advantage of discounts. Omniplex do an unlimited deal so I’m just waiting for that to open. I miss the Cineworld so much!

  1. Song Sung Blue - 7th January

  2. Fackham Hall - 22nd February

  3. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie - 2nd April + 3rd April

  4. The Devil Wears Prada 2 - 4th May

  5. The Sheep Detectives - 9th May

  6. Scary Movie - 4th June

My local Cineworld yesterday put up an extra showing of Interstellar because it was fully booked. It’s not like the film is barely on in cinemas. If anything, they probably show it every year. They showed it last year as part of the Christopher Nolan season
