Each week (aiming for Sunday evenings) I'll post one of these polls and ask you all to select your favourites from the week's new entries in the UK Singles Chart top 100. Unlike the similar polls in the genre forums, this poll is multiple choice - I'll leave it to your discretion how you want to give votes, if you want to just vote for your favourite each week then go for it, if not you can vote for as many songs as you feel deserve a vote (I will encourage people to make sure they've actually listened to all of the songs before voting but I can't enforce that obviously x). There's also a 'none of the above' option if you want to put in a protest vote. And then feel free to post in the thread any rankings/ratings or general thoughts. The song with the most votes at the end of the week will be the winner.

Week 2's winner lived up to its title - it was a comfortable win for the classic but previously uncharted album track 'Landslide' by transatlantic soft rock legends Fleetwood Mac from their 1975 self-titled album, finally earning a spot on the charts due to its usage in Stranger Things and earning the support of 27 out of 48 voters here, just over twice as many votes as its closest competitor, another more contemporary multinational group in KATSEYE.

Full week 2 results:

1 27/48 Fleetwood Mac - Landslide (#20)

2 13/48 KATSEYE - Internet Girl (#24)

3 12/48 Djo - Delete Ya (#95)

4 9/48 Doechii - girl, get up. (feat. SZA) (#79)

5 8/48 James Marriott - California Rain (#22)

5 8/48 Ella Langley - Choosin' Texas (#78)

5 8/48 Djo - Basic Being Basic (#81)

8 7/48 She & Him - I Thought I Saw Your Face Today (#97)

8 7/48 ROLE MODEL - Writing's On The Wall (#98)

10 3/48 Lil Uzi Vert - What You Saying (#61)

[2/48 none of the above]

This week's contenders:

Bruno Mars - I Just Might (#6)

Zach Bryan - Plastic Cigarette (#29)

Zach Bryan - Say Why (#43)

Zach Bryan - Appetite (#48)

Luke Combs - Sleepless In A Hotel Room (#58)

The Kid LAROI - RATHER BE (feat. Lithe) (#78)

A$AP Rocky - PUNK ROCKY (#87)

Skye Newman - Lonely Girl (#100)

8 tracks on offer this week including 2026's first album bomb with Zach Bryan landing 3 songs in at once, as well as the likely first bonafide big hit to be released within the year from Bruno Mars (sorry James Marriott and KATSEYE).

Hall of Fame:

Week 1: Zara Larsson - Midnight Sun [29/49]

Week 2: Fleetwood Mac - Landslide [27/48]

Laroi by far and away my favourite of the week, to nobody's surprise!

Also voted for all three Zach tracks, a surprisingly varied bunch.

Didn't mind the Luke Combs song, and Skye Newman's vocals were much less grating on this track. I Just Might is okay but a little Bruno on autopilot. PUNK ROCKY was alright on first play, potential to grow if I hear it again.

bruno and the zach bryan collection for me

I'm by no means totally sold on Bruno's song yet but it's at least better than all the others.

  1. Skye Newman - Lonely Girl

  2. Luke Combs - Sleepless in a Hotel Room

  3. Zach Bryan - Plastic Cigarette

  4. Zach Bryan - Appetite

  5. Bruno Mars - I Just Might

  6. A$AP Rocky - PUNK ROCKY

  7. Zach Bryan - Say Why

  8. The Kid LAROI - RATHER BE (feat. Lithe)

Second week in a row where there's nothing I love. I'm going to be a maverick this week as I reckon the two songs I'm voting for have a good chance of being the bottom two!

Skye actually sounds pretty nice on 'Lonely Girl' and 'Sleepless in a Hotel Room' is surprisingly solid.

ASAP Rocky for sure!

Liking Skye Newman’s new track and Bruno’s too; although a bit bored of Bruno already.

  • Bruno Mars - I Just Might (#6) - nowhere near his best but a pretty fun song all the same

  • Zach Bryan - Plastic Cigarette (#29) - zzz

  • Zach Bryan - Say Why (#43) - bit more oomph to this one, decent

  • Zach Bryan - Appetite (#48) - passable

  • Luke Combs - Sleepless In A Hotel Room (#58) - not much to this, annoying voice also

  • The Kid LAROI - RATHER BE (feat. Lithe) (#78) - only gets interesting from the beat switch in the second half but that doesn't save it

  • A$AP Rocky - PUNK ROCKY (#87) - well this was terribly disappointing, nothing interesting about this at all

  • Skye Newman - Lonely Girl (#100) - started promising (quite like the overtly accented vocals) but then the song does nothing...

Piss poor week, just Bruno & Zach.

  1. Bruno Mars - I Just Might (#6)

  2. A$AP Rocky - PUNK ROCKY (#87)

  3. Zach Bryan - Say Why (#43)

  4. Zach Bryan - Plastic Cigarette (#29)

  5. Zach Bryan - Appetite (#48)

  6. The Kid LAROI - RATHER BE (feat. Lithe) (#78)

  7. Skye Newman - Lonely Girl (#100)

  8. Luke Combs - Sleepless In A Hotel Room (#58)

1 good / 2-3 decent / 4-6 okay / 7-8 poor

honestly all of these are solid looking back

My votes this week:

1 Plastic Cigarette

2 PUNK ROCKY

3 Say Why

4 Appetite

5 I Just Might

6 Sleepless In A Hotel Room

7 Lonely Girl

8 RATHER BE

On my first listen of 'Plastic Cigarette' I thought it just came across as a slightly weaker version of 'Pink Skies' and while I still think the verses are very similar to that it has come more into its own for me with further listens, another beautifully evocative track from him and the hook has really wormed its way into my head. The other two Zach songs were both not quite among my favourites from his album (thought the album's quality really got going in the middle section, I do wish 'Bad News' had got his third chart slot over 'Appetite' as that's a career highlight song) but still good enough to get a vote here and think both will probably grow on me more anyway, they already both sounded better on a second listen, the repetition of the number 40 on 'Say Why' is quite satisfying and the more upbeat rocky sound of 'Appetite' does make it stand out a bit on an album of mostly more slow burning tracks. 'PUNK ROCKY' is a really interesting swerve in sound for Rocky to go with as a lead single but he pulls off the chill psychedelic-ish indie sound pretty well, definitely better songs on the album though (two of which will be in the next poll x). Bruno keeps doing the Bruno formula and it's nothing exciting but it's still pretty good, just wishing Anderson .Paak was on this song too. 'Sleepless In A Hotel Room' has some of Luke Combs' usual corny songwriting and the generic woahs in the chorus don't help but the song at least has a bit of bite to it and an otherwise solid hook, one of his better songs. I guess it's good to get another slightly more upbeat song from Skye Newman and a good message to the song but not great vocals and very on the nose songwriting, it's still bordering on Anne-Marie territory. The LAROI song is just a slog to get through, the beat switch is kind of cool I guess though. x

My ranking:

  1. Bruno Mars - I Just Might

  2. The Kid LAROI - RATHER BE (feat. Lithe)

  3. Luke Combs - Sleepless In A Hotel Room

  4. A$AP Rocky - PUNK ROCKY

  5. Zach Bryan - Say Why

  6. kye Newman - Lonely Girl

  7. Zach Bryan - Appetite

  8. Zach Bryan - Plastic Cigarette
