Official Charts Report

Noah Kahan is eyeing his second Number 1 single, as The Great Divide takes an early lead in this week’s Official Chart First Look.

Marking his first solo return after almost three years, the release of The Great Divide will also be the title track of the American’s newest album, dropping on Friday 24 April.

Kahan earned his maiden Number 1 back in 2023, when the universally recognised Stick Season topped the charts for seven consecutive weeks.

Therefore, Aperture from Harry Styles begins the week at Number 2; but don’t rule out a comeback from the birthday boy just yet.

Bruce Springsteen’s stoic protest song Streets of Minneapolis (18) is on course for a strong finish, the first time we could see the legendary musician back in the Top 20 since Secret Garden back in 1997.

The Boys Don’t Cry resurgence may seemingly continue for The Cure, with the hit track on course to climb 16 places to a new peak (20).

Elsewhere, Die With A Smile from Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars looks to re-climb, currently up seven (23) while two tunes, What It Sounds Like (26) and How It’s Done (27) from KPop Demon Hunters HUNTR/X, are both tracking to ascend 11 spots each.

New boyband December 10, formed on the Netflix TV talent show Simon Cowell: The Next Act may see their debut single Run My Way entering the Top 40 at the first time of asking (32).

Country singer-songwriter Ella Langley is eyeing an Official Singles Chart Top 40 debut, as Choosin’ Texas looks to put itself into contention, up 18 at this moment in time (33).

And finally, a track aching to break the Top 40 in David Guetta’s Gone Gone Gone featuring Teddy Swims and Tones and I, could leap an astonishing 36 positions (36).

Hoping Lily can sneak a week at #1, would be very deserved for an album with so much hype and impact

From the current Spotify, Apple and Amazon charts, Dave is slightly ahead of Harry on all

of them and could climb back to number 1 - but I think it will be a close battle.

Who knows - Noah Kahan might be Number 1 in the First Look, and this might be enough to carry him through.

Harry is only in slight decline overall - so who knows, even if he drops to number 2, he might return to number 1 once all of the other tracks go to ACR.

I am hoping the physical release of Boys Don't Cry will send the Cure high into the chart tonight.

I thought Boys Don't Cry would be higher but great to see it in the top 20 tonight even if does not last until Friday.

I guess the question is, how many people are likely to buy the physical single? It’s difficult for any act to sell a large number of copies of a single physically (unless your name is Lewis Capaldi).

Ooh new peak for the Cure hopefully! I know it's got physicals but still hope it can get there

Oh wow at Bruce! Does he also have physicals?
