Each week (aiming for Sunday evenings) I'll post one of these polls and ask you all to select your favourites from the week's new entries in the UK Singles Chart top 100. Unlike the similar polls in the genre forums, this poll is multiple choice - I'll leave it to your discretion how you want to give votes, if you want to just vote for your favourite each week then go for it, if not you can vote for as many songs as you feel deserve a vote (I will encourage people to make sure they've actually listened to all of the songs before voting but I can't enforce that obviously x). There's also a 'none of the above' option if you want to put in a protest vote. And then feel free to post in the thread any rankings/ratings or general thoughts. The song with the most votes at the end of the week will be the winner.

Week 4 continued the run of landslide winners (I thought this one might be a bit closer!) as well as making it 2 for 2 on poll wins for pre-21st century songs as the late American singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley cruised to the win with 1994 album track 'Lover, You Should've Come Over', from his one and only studio album 'Grace'. The song has recently been viral on TikTok and seems to have possibly just been given a manual reset last week to enter the chart and give BuzzJack an option that wasn't hip-hop, afrobeats or AI and they took that option with the song getting 23 out of a possible 43 votes. For those who aren't into Jeff either it was a banner week for 'none of the above' which beat the number of votes for every other song bar A$AP Rocky's 'HELICOPTER', which it tied with in second place on 12 votes. When I did these polls before songs getting 0 votes was quite a rarity but we have our first goose egg of the year already and a well deserved one for the 'Papaoutai' cover which I hope will go away now and I never have to hear again beyond my single contractually obligated listen for this poll.

Full week 4 results:

1 23/43 Jeff Buckley - Lover, You Should've Come Over (#61)

2 12/43 A$AP Rocky - HELICOPTER (#42)

[12/43 none of the above]

3 8/43 A$AP Rocky - STOLE YA FLOW (#59)

4 7/43 A$AP Rocky - STAY HERE 4 LIFE (feat. Brent Faiyaz) (#49)

5 6/43 Wizkid and Asake - Jogodo (#74)

6 2/43 ZXKAI and slxughter - NO BATIDÃO (#91)

7 0/43 mikeeysmind, Chill77 and Unjaps - Papaoutai (Afro Soul) (#68)

This week's contenders:

Harry Styles - Aperture (#1)

Arctic Monkeys - Opening Night (#16)

M Huncho - Championship (#43)

Fredo - Runnin (#52)

Fred again.. and Young Thug - scared (#55)

Wizkid and Asake - Turbulence (#76)

Dermot Kennedy - Funeral (#82)

Bella Kay - iloveitiloveitiloveit (#93)

8 new entries this week and all of them are actually from this year this time hooray! I suspect this won't be breaking the run of landslide victories but we'll see x

Hall of Fame:

Week 1: Zara Larsson - Midnight Sun [29/49]

Week 2: Fleetwood Mac - Landslide [27/48]

Week 3: Bruno Mars - I Just Might [26/44]

Week 4: Jeff Buckley - Lover, You Should've Come Over [23/43]

Gone with Harry, Arctics, Fred Again and Wizkid/Asake

I'm still not 100% sold on 'Aperture' or 'Opening Night' but I do like 'Funeral' a lot more than I thought I would so I've gone with just that this week.

  • Harry Styles - Aperture (#1) - SUCH a vibe~

  • Arctic Monkeys - Opening Night (#16) - bit too on the mellow side for me

  • M Huncho - Championship (#43) - nice chilled flow to this one

  • Fredo - Runnin (#52) - promising song but just a shame it's fredo rapping over it

  • Fred again.. and Young Thug - scared (#55) - fred has pulled a mad one here to make young thug sound that palatable, beast of a track

  • Wizkid and Asake - Turbulence (#76) - nothing particularly interesting nor attention-grabbing about this

  • Dermot Kennedy - Funeral (#82) - this is a dermot kennedy song

  • Bella Kay - iloveitiloveitiloveit (#93) - sounds promising on first rotation!

Voted Harry, Hunch, Fred & Bella.

harry, the am boys and bella here! all beautiful songs with that bella kay song being a shocking grower

Just voting for Aperture as it's by far my fave x

I liked the Bella Kay song, more so than her previous hit! The rest are an array of forgettable tracks for me, none are standouts in their discographies (except M Huncho but it's a low bar).

  1. Bella Kay - iloveitiloveitiloveit

  2. Fredo - Runnin

  3. Fred again.. & Young Thug - scared

  4. Arctic Monkeys - Opening Night

  5. M Huncho - Championship

  6. Harry Styles - Aperture

  7. Wizkid and Asake - Turbulence

  8. Dermot Kennedy - Funeral

I'm really enjoying the Bella track! Fredo was close to a vote but it's not his strongest. 'Scared' is definitely one of Fred again..'s best!

The rest are various stages of bland.
