I definitely know which song I would be picking for Florence! (although yes, plenty of good options x)

So yes, Bowie was I, the old man, Katie Waissel, Twink master and the one that most of you were dreading to hear every round ;D This does feel the right time for me to go - Quite frankly, I'm not sure

Chappell going was a huge shock and I say that having placed her last. Well at least I think I did. Real happy to see Delta through though, I though she might struggle.

@Calum please feel free to share my votes if your feel like it.

I’m sure Delta was 1st and Chappell last, but that’s all I remember.

I've not seen them having the balls to submit a song sung in Swedish xo

(inb4 they do in the second half of the final round just to flex and win anyway a la Avril)

I'd absolutely love the hustle of a Swedish version being used instead, although it wouldn't really wash in this round as most of their Swedish versions were of big English hits.

There's always Åh, vilka tider, if their mentor wishes to exit the competition swiftly!

There are 3 I’d struggle to pick between.

Oh, I know what I’d like to see from Florence and it’s my favourite from them.

It may very well top my votes too, so hopefully it’s sent.

Just spying some of the acts’ wiki discographies and Florence has quite a few strong options that fit the criteria here. I’m intrigued to see what they pull out the bag for this.

Lily and Kelly will both probably have to resort to their later floppy eras which will be interesting.

Lily and Kelly will be interesting and to an extent Delta as well. Delta’s first four and a bit eras were huge in Australia where almost everything charted. So it’ll either be a single from later on or the floppy debut I Don’t Care which missed the top 50 here.

I have a feeling I know what’s being sent.

can calum expose my votage please bratcheeseblock

Yeah I think all the pop girlies will be restricted this round.

@Scene is most definitely coming for two-peat win in this...there's no way for ABBA not taking this!!!

Very flattering gaga but I think Lily could pose a threat.

I mean, I’m not ABBA! How dare you suggest such a thing! kink

It would have taken one hell of a song for this to have not topped my vote, one of my all-time favourites.

I'm quite struck by the lack of choice some artists have for this round having looked up chart positions of singles in their home countries as well as here and the US for where that applies. Should be an interesting round.

I’m a little disappointed I didn’t get to use anything from their debut album, but that’s on me for. It sending anything whilst I had the chance to. Still I’d have been quietly confident with this one avoiding the elimination spots.

I was shocked too, I was just expecting it to be a UK flop, but makes it a lot more tricky.

I actually think the guidelines that Calum has laid out are extremely fair and reasonable tbh. I do think it's a tad harsh on those pre-streaming/download eras because there is no way in this world that 'Follow Me' isn't considered a flop for Atomic Kitten for example. But how do you distinguish it more evenly? Idk.

Maybe certifications? An uncertified single or something? It's all a bit of a grey area, but I think Calum has distinguished it as fair as he could across multiple eras of sales/chart measurements. I particularly love the "their own Country" rule too.

I do think 'You Are' should be allowed tbh. It was released in a handful of countries. It was just cancelled as a full single in the UK because they couldn't commit to a full promotional tour for it (despite it hitting number 90 in the charts! - I can't remember if it was imports or not)

I think The Weeknd would have gone out on the flops round, I have no idea what I'd have picked for him. I don't think any of his "flop" singles are as good as his top 40 hits. I guess I'd have gone for 'Often' or 'Love Me Harder', idk really :/

“Love Me Harder” is great though!

False Alarm or Secrets would've been my pick.

Trilogy is right there

Pretty much most of The Chicks back catalogue qualifies for this round?! (Although they did have hits in their home country)

Would have gone for this gem

Yeah I did think of 'False Alarm', I do like it but I think it would have been quite divisive as a choice

I don't think there's much from Trilogy that would have resonated with people

Yes it was imports only as I have it and it’s in a cardboard sleeve (can’t remember where from!). With a full release it was probably heading for top five but not No.1 and I can see that they would have wanted to maintain the momentum of the previous two singles.

I do actually agree with you btw, I love Calum’s guidelines here because we’re bound to make more discoveries. It is more of a challenge but I love a challenge and even prefer them to open rounds.

and so is 'Often' x

('Love Me Harder' would have been ineligible as it was a top 10 in the US & Canada, likewise 'False Alarm' was a top 40 in Canada too - I do think 'Wicked Games' might have been a decent choice to placate Pavita)
