I genuinely believe that Nelly could have won this whole thing but this was a terrible choice for her, so many singles to choose that could have kept her. Sad that scissor sisters were so low too but hopefully only bangers from them from here on out ❤️

@danG, well done for progressing as far as you did with Nelly Furtado.

Thank you also for reminding me of Who Wants To Be Alone, I'd forgotten about that song. Also thank you so much for sending Try, I absolutely love that song, so it was wonderful to see it get it's moment here.

A real shame we won't get to hear the likes of Say It Right, All Good Things, Do It and Powerless from Nelly. (Promiscuous can get in the bin ). She was definitely a contender for the crown! Some great choices sent already though - Try!

I think this season, compared with last season, is a much fiercer monster. The talent on display is insane and almost every finalist deserves to go all the way with what they have brought so far. Not to disrespect any artist sent last season, but it was a much smaller number to start with plus those who took part were experimenting with a new concept.

I can't see next season being as tough as this one was. So many huge names were all sent at the same time and that ended in disaster for so many.

I didn’t take part last year but I do remember following along. I think it was a great launching pad for what we’ve seen this year. Last year did have some big/biggish names too. Elton, Avril, Ellie and The Saturdays just to name a few.

Glad to have had the time / not forgotten to vote. Scissor Sisters would've been... you know where otherwise. 😯

I appreciated The Corrs and Nelly Furtado involvement, because both are artists I really liked back in the day, but I haven't played them too often in recent years - so it was nice to be reminded. Both of you sent my favourite song by each artist - What Can I Do and Maneater.

What Can I Do is sublime, I was considering sending it in its original form but I’m glad I stuck with the remix.

Struggled a bit with this theme as my act aren't exactly known for ballads. Confirmed though.

I’ve noticed that with both editions of this an artist with an ‘Artists Forum’ hasn’t been entered into the competition. Is there a rule against entering one?

I know The Saturdays and Ellie Goulding did have Artist Forums, but not last year.

Yeah I agree, I think with so many massive names used up this season, there'll be less big names left to choose from next season. That said, I do have a few in mind, but I'm wondering whether to just send an artist I love next year to showcase their talent, rather than go for an artist I think could win.

If I remember correctly there use to be an Artist Forums version about 5 or 6 years ago.

I’m in that mindset as well. I’ve got a few on my potential list, but there’s one I think will do quite well. I’m a big fan of said artist too, but maybe I should go with something a little left field.

Saying that I thought The Corrs was a bit of a left field choice.

It wasn’t the same but was a similar elimination style through rounds game called “AF Idol”. Was a lot of fun tbh, but got messy at times and alias votes etc.. I wonder how well it’d do now with polls showing who voted what etc..?

That was where I discovered Taylor’s All Too Well and it was glorious. The highlight of AF Idol for me.

Just thinking of acts for a potential 3rd series of this in 2027 and I think there's potentially 3-6 fairly strong acts that I certainly think could and will be sent.
