April 20Apr 20 The twink finally reunited with the old man in pop factor heaven Edited April 20Apr 20 by Lee_J11
April 20Apr 20 Well done Lily (I do still think “Smile” is an exceptionally good debut hit) and commiserations to Conan who has been a real revelation for so many of us!

April 20Apr 20 Expected top 3, their songs were unbeatable for me!Conan and scissor Sisters both did way better in this competition than I thought they would, 4th and 5th is great !
April 20Apr 20 Well done Lily!! This is the final 3 I was anticipating when this round began, but commiserations to Scissor Sisters and Conan Gray. I wonder who was behind these artists?

April 20Apr 20 Was hard to see it going any other way than that unfortunately. Hope I'll like at least one song in the final final... I actually ranked Conan 1st in that round for the first time! (meanwhile I did unfortunately rank Scissor Sisters last, these were relatively strong picks from ABBA and Kelly and a relatively weak pick for the Scissors)
April 20Apr 20 I had Lily last in my vote for that part of the final Its a good debut, but I preferred the other songs in that final Edited April 20Apr 20 by ElectroBoy
April 20Apr 20 Sorry to see Conan eliminated, but what a journey. Imagine what the odds would have been at the start of the contest on him making the final 5!
April 20Apr 20 A pity that Conan did not made it into the final - the song in this round was another great one. However, you cannot not vote for great songs such as "Smile", "Gimme Gimme Gimme" and "Behind These Hazel Eyes". The Scissors' song was unfortuntely a bit behind the other four in this round. Wondering how "Comfortably Numb" would have performed here - this is my absolutely favourite song from them.

First of all, to address the elephant in the room, and I’m sure Jay won’t mind me saying, but after Michelle Branch’s withdrawal from the competition early on, when Jay decided to take some time away from BuzzJack, it was preferred that we didn’t have another artist withdrawal and so enter ElectroBoy! Saving the day by taking the reins and seeing Conan through before coming together to work with Jay and collaborate on his entries for each round. And what a competition Conan has had thanks to them both. When the artists were unveiled, Conan was probably lumped in with all the other twinks, but with a recipe for success on BuzzJack sending a whole host of songs from Found Heaven, it saw Conan right through to the near-end of the competition, gaining many new fans. And for clarity’s sake: Conan wasn’t at an advantage at any point in the competition as a result of both Jay and ElectroBoy’s votes; and if it had changed the outcome of any results, both of their votes would have been added together and divided by two to give a fair individual score. With Conan, newcomer ElectroBoy manages his first Final placement (and has assured everybody his Spotify Wrapped is going to be a disaster () this year, and Jay manages to improve his position from Season 1 with Louise who was eliminated in the Semi Final. And then onto Wardy, who has played a fantastic game as Scissor Sisters. A silent assassin, and probably until the last few days one of the least talked about guesses for mentors and artists. Despite playing some big hits at the beginning of the competition, Wardy managed to guide through every round, beating out Conan in the battles, surviving the bottom two in the first Live Show, and building momentum in the last few rounds to make it all the way here. Wardy also improves his position from Season 1, progressing a few rounds further than Ellie Goulding managed to. All three of you should be so proud. Neither artist’s journey has been perfect, but you made it here and thank you for giving it everything!

April 20Apr 20 Oh those reveals were pretty much what I expected but well done @electroboy for doing your bit with Conan and giving him back! 😝
April 20Apr 20 Great underdogs of the competition Would love to have seen SS go all the way but a great final 3 none the less - although I will say I think one of the finalists has played it way too risky up to this point
April 20Apr 20 Just to say, I didn’t completely lie… It was true that I wasn’t in time to get an act, and for the auditions I was just an enthusiastic voter. However, with the aftermath of Branchgate, Jay stepped away and instead of having another act withdraw, Calum messaged me about taking over (as I’d been vocal about not having an act. I said yes as I thought it would be fun… even if I didn’t have a clue about any Conan songs and I wasn’t exactly a fan).Cal messaged me about 45 minutes before the deadline for the first Bootcamp Round, asking if I was interested and who the act was. I wasn’t really aware of any Conan’s song… or even how many albums he had! The only song I had heard prior to the Pop Factor was ‘Heather’ – which I didn’t like. The only other songs I’d heard other than Heather were both Audition songs! So, I then listened to a few songs in about 15-20 minutes before sending in ‘Never Ending Song’ – which was the first song I listened too and immediately loved it. In fact I’ve been hammering it the last few weeks pretty much non stop!Oddly that quick pick then topped the vote of that round – which was a bit of a surprise! After getting asked, I was then listening to Conan tracks non-stop for the next week or so to try and find what I liked/ what I thought would be good to submit. I can’t say I had any form of a plan other than get through each week, In hindsight sending in Never Ending Song so early may have been a mistake – but then I didn’t envisage him lasting for so long, let alone make the finals. It was a fun learning curve and whilst I’m not keen on ALL of his output, I loved the Found Heaven album and a fair number of other tracks too…. I even created a playlist of potential songs to use, if I got through and then tried to add to it if I managed to make any other discoveries/ warmed to any other Conan songs.Jay basically oversaw the Auditions, I then took over at Bootcamp and Judges Houses. Cal then message me just before the battles about potentially co-mentoring – which I said yes to – Conan was Jay’s pick afterall! I think I probably picked some different songs to what Jay would’ve done (had he carried on solo) and visa a vera; I don’t think ‘Forever With Me’ (for instance) would’ve been picked at all and there probably would’ve been more picks from Superache/ Wishbone – I kinda lent more heavily towards Found Heaven and there were a couple of tracks on his first album I was angling to use at times. But it was good coming at things from different angles and then reaching a compromise of what we both felt was right. Jay convinced me to use Vodka Cranberry (for instance) as I have to say, wasn’t a massive fan of It – but I was proved wrong as it was a big success. So yeah, bit of an odd one in terms of participation, but I was glad I was asked to participate, I guess goes to show you don’t necessarily need to know everything about the act you pick. I went with my gut a lot of the time in terms of what I thought would get a good response/ what I liked. One thing though, my Spotify wrapped is now going to be heavily skewed towards Conan now! I shall hopefully return for Series 3, with an act I’m more familiar with – although maybe not knowing Conan’s songs helped be more objective at times. Edited April 20Apr 20 by ElectroBoy
April 20Apr 20 Major props to @-Jay- and @ElectroBoy for their expert mentoring of Conan! An artist I've loved from before he was well known (and I'm taking some credit for Jay's love of Conan too xx). He way surpassed my expectations, and I'm particularly glad that Found Heaven, my favourite Conan album, had a lot of love!!Though the best album track on Found Heaven wasn't actually used, get bopping x

Was extremely difficult to try and send from different albums, as everything from FH seemed to click with voters... whereas other picks seemed to stall at times.
