Another new peak for 'Rein Me In' at #7.

Not thrilled about 'Opalite' getting another boost, but the music video release to streaming services could be an effective way to get a post-album hit.

Do we happen to know if video streams are included on Spotify's charts especially since Opalite is a Spotify exclusive for now?

Id assume most of those streams are from the video for her to be back as high as 3

Spotify has updated, sombr's 'Homewrecker' is the highest new entry at #13, although Taylor's 'Opalite' is up 56 places to #3 off the back of the music video only being released on Spotify and Apple initially 😮 I wonder how much of a thing this will become going forward.

Probably be more and more common, Taylor is usually a trendsetter especially when it comes to playing by the chart rules

At least for artists big in the US (and who care about music videos and charts) I expect videos premiering on Spotify (/Apple Music) before going on YouTube is going to become a fairly common thing now for as long as YouTube is not sharing its data with Billboard. I guess it'll be interesting to see if 'Opalite' has a corresponding massive dropoff on Spotify when the video goes up on YouTube? (Ergh at it being so high again regardless)

J. Cole's entry positions (feels a bit underwhelming for an album that's been hyped for the best part of a decade and that seems to be getting positive reviews, maybe his involvement in the Drake/Kendrick beef is still having some lingering effect...)

30 Two Six

38 SAFETY

58 Poor Thang

62 Run A Train

68 Bunce Road Blues

74 29 Intro

77 Legacy

91 WHO TF IZ U

125 Drum N Bass

140 The Let Out

181 Bombs In The Ville/Hit The Gas

186 39 Intro

200 The Fall-Off Is Inevitable

So that's the first 11 tracks of disc 1 charting plus the first 2 tracks of disc 2 (both discs have 12 tracks but the last on each is labelled as a 'bonus', interesting that it appears at least some people seem to have consciously skipped the disc 1 bonus track despite there not being a version of the album without it). There weren't any singles released before the album but 'The Fall-Off Is Inevitable' was uploaded to YouTube without a given title as a trailer for the album, I tend to find Cole is more interesting on features and throwaway singles than his own albums but that is a great song to be fair, glad it just about scraped in!

Other newies not already mentioned:

66 EsDeeKid - Omens

144 Tame Impala - Dracula (JENNIE Remix)

151 ZAYN - Die For Me

167 Maisie Peters - My Regards

Would maybe have expected a higher debut from EsDeeKid too but will see if it takes off in the coming weeks. Hopefully the 'Dracula' remix can push the song back into the top 40 - I see Dan's estimations had it avoiding ACR for another 3 weeks anyway, so actually this remix might have the potential to accelerate it going to ACR lol.

Forgot YouTube doesn't count for Billboard anymore

If launching music videos on Spotify before YouTube ends up being consistently successful I hope that gives artists/labels an incentive to make more music videos. Imagine if the Stateside video was released on Spotify first!

Yeah if this does indeed provide a significant chart boost, I think other labels will sit up and take note. Taylor setting trends once again!

I'm not sure that it is necessarily giving a significant chart boost other than maybe indirectly through being more visible on the Spotify chart again - it's just pinching numbers from a different platform.

(although if it means the OCC count these as audio streams rather than video streams...)

Also good to see 'DtMF' holding at #17 today despite the 'Opalite' rise + sombr debut!

And you always thought correctly. The difference is the 'Opalite' video isn't on YouTube yet.

Im thinking the same because you can only watch a video once you selected the song your not searching for it separately thats why i reckon her climbing to 3 is from the videos

I know yesterday me and my other half attempted to play it a few times to locate the video, probably a few times for at least 30 seconds for the actual track itself as we weren't really familiar with watching a music video on Spotify. I wonder if a few people experienced the same difficulty and that contributed to a good chunk of registered streams? lol

I suppose the difference could be that a chunk of these "video" streams will be from premium accounts, and therefore count at the higher ratio, as opposed to the vast majority of YouTube streams being at the ad-funded ratio!
