Hotel California is a classic one of the greatest Rock songs ever

Like You Keep Me Hanging by The Supremes but as a Kim Wilde Fan I like her version much better

Never liked The Prodigy

  • Yes, I can confirm I'll be hosting the number 9 poll next year.

  • Or maybe Bananarama's version leans in more to people's pop tastes rather than being to do with recency? A 40 year old song isn't really that much more recent compared to a 56 year old song!

It’s great that some of the older tracks have done really well in this chart. And also finally, the last of my low scorers is out.

Glad that 12 of my top 20 are still to come in the top 17.

Agree with other commenters about the epicness of Smack My Bitch Up and Fat Of The Land in general. I remember it being just fully skipped and barely referred to on the Radio 1 top 40 show (they just say something like "at number 8 it's a new entry for the Prodigy and now at number 7 it's..." - very rare for the 90s when they had a much looser bar for censorship

They never read the title on air and would usually play the B-side 'No Man Army' instead. I think once they played an edited version on the chart show which cut out all the vocal sections.

Average score - 27.2

Just Can't Get Enough was Depeche Mode's third single and the last before Vince Clark left the group. It's now often played at football grounds, most notably Celtic FC, and is the first single so far not to appear in any voter's bottom five.

Here Comes The Rain Again was the third single to be taken from Eurythmics' third album 'Touch' and was their fifth consecutive top 10 hit. One 50 point score means it wins a tie-break over 'Just Can't Get Enough'.

“Just Can’t Get Enough” has been a bit tainted in popular culture over the decades for me and I prefer the darker style that Depeche Mode went on to develop.

“Here Comes The Rain Again” is stunning - one of The Eurythmics’ very best for sure.

Impressed ‘Here Comes The Rain Again’ is so high - but also sad because 6 of my top 10 have now gone.

However only 3 of my 11-20 have gone.

I’m still guessing Linkin Park for the win (though Robyn has also united us).

From 2012, this was Pink's seventeenth top 10 single. The songwriters had Kelly Clarkson and then Daughtry in mind before eventually giving it to Adam Lambert but they weren't happy with his recording so it ended up with Pink. The single peaked in its fifth week in the top 40 and spent just one week in the top 10.

A Huge Fan of Depeche Mode but never liked this song much

My Favorites are Shake The Disease,Blasphemous Rumors,Stripped ,A Question of Lust,Strangelove ,Never Let Me Down Again and of course Enjoy The Silence

Also a Huge Fan of Eurythmics l love Here Comes The Rain Again l love it more than Sweet Dreams

Try is my favorite song from Pink ever great song

6 songs of my top 10 are still to come

'Just Can't Get Enough' is not bad but it's not the kind of song I really like Depeche Mode for - the fact that The Saturdays were able to cover it and it made sense says a lot. Not surprised that I was its joint lowest voter though.

Depeche Mode going from Just Can't Get Enough to Enjoy The Silence has always been very fascinating to me. JCGA is a great singalong classic, the 80s production actually makes it pretty fun. Here Comes The Rain Again is perfectly listenable but wouldn't seek it out, not a fan of most 80s pop as explained before. I don't remember Try being so heavy, a good track from Pink!

Try is such a beautiful song, and I can’t complain about it falling out now as it is 1 place above where I placed it.

10 of my top 20 made the top 14 - but all of the songs left are good, and most of them are great.

Try is my favourite Pink song and pleased to see it so high here. Just Can't Get Enough is also excellent though not quite in the same league as Enjoy The Silence. I didn't really know the Eurythmics song until this rate but really enjoyed it so gave it decent points.

I wouldn't say I just can't get enough of 'Just Can't Get Enough' but it is an 80s staple. In fact I've just been at someone's 40th birthday party tonight and it was played there amongst lots of other 80s and 90s classics.

'Here Comes The Rain' again is OK but Eurythmics have better songs.

Echoing the love for 'Try', it's one of Pink's best, absolutely sublime wub I'm glad there's so much love for it and it's done this well!
