May 6May 6 I am likely going to vote Green this time due to the best local policies, which are the only ones I particularly care about. While nominally a lib dem their policies this time are heavy on the wishy washy.

May 7May 7 You get two „votes“ at Holyrood. You vote for a direct mandate for the constituency. Then you also vote on a regional list for a form of proportional representation.The parties encourage „both votes X“ but some indie parties only stand on the list and encourage usually an SNP Constituency, Us for the List approach. People voting for Greens on the first vote instead of split ticketing is how Ruth the mooth got her constituency seat 🤷🏼♂️
May 8May 8 Strongholds of the Whigs/Liberals for over 200 years, the Lib Dems have won Orkney with 70% (!) of the constituency vote while potentially losing Shetland to the SNP. The islands are diverging. That 70% is, I believe, the highest constituency vote in any Scottish parliament election.

Shouldn’t be a net negative for the SNP tho as it should allow a list seat in place. Would prefer not to have the greens f***ing about with vote splitting on the constituency vote before we get our freedom but we are where we are
