We'll see how it goes I guess. If Portugal manage to pull it off it would be a lovely tribute to Diogo Jota who most likely would have been in their World Cup squad if he was still alive.

The USA are not exactly honouring the usual meaning o the word "hosts". They have even refused a visa to one of the referees. They should be thrown out of this tournament and at least one more World C

France, I think for me. Any team in the top six of the betting bar England.

Dark horses: Norway and Japan.

I've gone with France because of how overpowered their attacking options are. It was a toss up between them and Spain but went with France in the end.

I feel with France, when they're the favourites for tournaments they always disappoint but when they're a bit more unfancied they tend to surprise.

Yeah in most cases that's how it is although I think they may have been favourites before the 2018 World Cup?

I looked at a few retrospective sources and it appeared that Brazil, Spain & Germany were the top 3 in some order for 2018 WC.

I remember them being faves for both recent Euros but then they did reach the final again in 2022 WC so they could match Brazil & Germany in qualifying for 3 finals in a row.

We'll see how it goes I guess. If Portugal manage to pull it off it would be a lovely tribute to Diogo Jota who most likely would have been in their World Cup squad if he was still alive.

I genuinely have no idea.

The heat will play a huge part in this, so I think those teams with a strong defence will likely do well. France will be pretty dull to watch, but I think they will do quite well. I'd lean towards them for the win.

Curacao kink

Can't see much further than France to be honest, that attacking force is just disgusting honestly. Spain are great shouts too, I do think it will be a European team but @Rooney makes a great point that this tournament could massively be impacted by the heat, more so in the latter stages.

Whilst I wouldn't back them to win, teams like Mexico are going to thrive with this "home" advantage, their crowds will be full of energy and they will be good with the weather.

Morocco have a very talented team, think a strong Semi run could happen. Argentina will be in the convo and I really enjoy the Netherlands style.

England, i'm just not seeing it, I just don't like our potential route (playing Mexico in Mexico would be a horrendous hostile fixture for us).

Brazil have maybe the weakest team they have had in my living years, I do not fear them at all.

The Iran squad have arrived in Mexico. They are playing all their group matches in the USA, but the Trump administration insist that they have to enter and leave the country on each match day. The USA has also refused to allow supporters of some competing nations to enter the country. FIFA should show some courage and throw the USA out of the competition.

Absolutely agree, did the Iranian footballers start the war in Iran? Oh that’s right it was Trump and Netenyahu - hypocrites as ever.

Well if FIFA threw the USA out then there wouldn't be a tournament. Had they not been a hosting country then the potential would be there perhaps.

I’m sure they would find grounds in Mexico like in 1986. But Johnny wouldn’t get his award then!
